NFL is finished....

The NFL fans are unathletic know-it-all-never-played-a-sport types

 

The NFL and football as a whole will be finished by helicopter mothers. Moms hear head injuries and brain damage and little Ricky aint playing. Football has another good 10 years and the decline will start because there won't be the talent in the game anymore.

 

I've all but given up watching except for having a TV on and cruising through every now and then for a play or two.
Yesterday the Rams/Bucaneers game was delayed by 52 minutes for lightning.
That game finished BEFORE the Jets game and at the same time as the Broncos/Chiefs game.


How the hell do you manage that? Cut the commercials out
52 MINUTES!!!! I'll spend my time elsewhere

 

Isn't even worse when those namby-pambies try to ruin off-shore drilling and try to protect aquatic life…like that Jacques Cousteau guy…even worse, he was French! I hate when they get all liberal and try to stop pesticide use that will eventually end up ruining all our surf spots. It's like they hate everything fun.

Home girl knows her football. She's also one of the smartest, no BS people out there.

 

Totally calm, my brother. I do appreciate that you seem to have some respect for the natural world - but do realize that to the offshore drillers, to frackers, to Dow, Monsanto, etc., etc., the desire to put limits on the amount of chemicals with which we drench our soil and the desire to leave the ocean floor alone is seen as the exact same kind of liberal as the socially controlling liberal. Everyone wants the freedom to do whatever he/she wants, but some people just don't give a damn if they're hurting everyone else (including doing irreparable damage to our planet that will make it a less habitable place for future generations). I appreciate that you try to separate it into social/environmental (for the sake of acknowledging the merit in wanting to pass a somewhat habitable planet on to future generations (including clean water to surf in)), but I do think the namby-pambie stuff just perpetuates the TV liberal you reference. Perhaps its better to just point out the flaw in the thinking in this given situation.

Anyway, I realize this is supposed to be a column about the threats to the NFL, so I'll leave you to it.

 

She's been waitin for this her whole life. Just cause she happened to be born female, don't let that fool you. She could probably kick the butts of most people on here... physically, mentally, or any other way. It may be time for this.

NFL is in some deep PR doo doo right now. I love the game too much to enjoy watching all this go down. Give her a chance to turn it around. Weirdness is just what we need.
