Prediction for Wed/Thur (New Hampshire) was OH, reality was 3'.

how in the world could it be missed by that much?

For future reference, any storm that is east of Bermuda….lower your expectations.

    Fair enough, hello!

It was small at The Wall, it just was. Perhaps a 4' now and then. Not even anywhere in the neighborhood of OH. Not even standing on your knees.

What software is swell info using?

I'm just frustrated because I watched it coming all week, took time off. fer nothing..

Think about it like this...does the weather man get the weather right every time? No, he doesn't. Not where I live at least.

A hurricane VERY FAR from the US while moving AWAY from the US and continuing to LOSE STRENGTH probably won't be too amazing. It was fun in OCMD though and pretty spot on.

My advice is to wait for the next swell around 3-4 ft @ 8-10 sec. That is usually gold to me and I'm sure a few other guys on here.

shoulda waited a day...if you were out for the bertha and watched that one, you shoulda had an idea. what i've noticed is a swell coming SE takes so time to get around the horn of the cape. add on top of that the storm was closer to greenland than here...beaches with the slope of a bathtub...NO offshores (until later today)....and a typical southern CA period....it was gonna be tough.

but i got out this morning and got closed out a bit...but got to see some dudes get super spooked when a sunfish fin started floppin around just feet from them...then got out later tonight at the usual spot for a quick one and got a couple to offset the closeouts earlier in the day.

look at it this way...this was more swell than we've had in a couple weeks up here, the weather and water temp were beautiful, and if you got one, you got what you came for...don't blame a website for your decision! 'ppreciate what you got. i was little disappointed too, but take into account the things above - i'll take it...overall = good day

It said OH in the middle of the night (surely didn't happen but who cares?), not Wed & Thur daylight. Wed was smaller than forecast. Today was pretty much as forecast, plenty of shoulder high sets and a few bigger ones. Sorry you didn't have any fun at the wall everyone was happy where I was.

lol bro, you were in the land of a thousand points during long period swell yet chose to go to the kook factory of Th* W*ll because that's the buzz word break in the area. I think the convo ends there lol

Glad there's sanity somewhere here lol

Idk what was up with the rest of you braddahs but I got my face stoked off tonight. Took until the last 30 minutes of the evening session when tide turned on but I got the best 5 frontside rides of my life on a technical level. Instead of going for the kitchen sink bucket throw kickout at the lip after pumping pa pa pa down the line, I hit it hard and dropped back in for some long ass rides. People are *****ing but lemme see...oh that's right, we haven't otherwise surfed in days.

We mos def talked about how it would be great at the points in Hampton when we were critiquing the up and down swell at the home break. At no point would the manuscript of our convo have read "bet you it's bombing swell at T*e W*ll brahhhh!!!!!"

Some real chargers here chasing rhinos looking for OH-DOH when clean waist to chest rollers are fun as hell and beat the ballz off anything we haven't seen here in 3 weeks since Cristobal. Yeah, we are all getting stoked every 3rd Thursday like you read about, but when there's less than slim pickings in between take what you can get bro! You get what you get and be happy with it.

Or...you could join the tea party at T*e W*ll and engage in some delightful conversation and maybe even try some yoga on your LB in between sets lol
