The good ol' gulf stream provides a highway for those suckers. Mostly spinners and black tips but massive Hammerheads come in to eat them

I did a little cruise down the coast for spring break last year and surfed New Smyrna, Reef Road, and Juno. Reef Road had so many spinners it was insane. Saw 5 while in the water near me and a few more once we got out. They're small little guys but then again so are my toes.

I didn't see any in New Smyrna but the water wasn't very clear that day. The Geiselmans ****ing rip though man its crazy seeing real pros surf in person.

Wait, so those dark spots like the one at 2:34 are sharks? Dudes, F that. I'll take 34 degree shark-free water every single day over that situation.

the sharks rarely bother anyone there, was shooting water photos at the next peak down when that kid got bit, there were big schools of bait fish right under the surfers that day so it probably just thought his foot was a fish

Exactly, and that is usually the extent of it (the damage) when it DOES happen, which is usually a few each year, almost never critical or fatal though

OH without a doubt it sucks, but not the end of the world, he'll be back in the water i'm sure. Hope he gets the money he needs for that surgery.
