**** it. Here's one in Maine. I guess once it's on the internet, anyone can find it.
I've checked tuckermans a ton of times never seen it going off. Really finicky wave needs just the right conditions
the thing is this really isnt unique at all. there are a ton of slabs like that off the NE coast. I for one have surfed a bunch of them not bragging or anything but if you have friends with boats those waves are out there and empty. men's journal is the gayest magazine i have ever read on a second note. Not sure why this is such a big deal looks like they scored though as did I during Edourd. good swell though the SE wind swell a few days better was actually better!
I grew up in the section of the Northeast that this was found, but hadn't heard of this spot until the article. But I know exactly where the "loading the boat" photo was taken and I'm 90% sure on where the fire photo at the end was, and thereby, what port they left from. All you need to do is draw a 12 mile radius out to sea from that harbor on a bathymetry chart and you are likely to find it. Wish they had left it to word of mouth.
Bro, you don't know me. Bro, the ME RR I've got shott off the lip at looks a lot like that one. Not as wide and doesn't suck as dry in the trough. Still gnarly. lol right? Just when you thought Mainers couldn't get any worse...
I downloaded the depth charts on my phone and I'm pretty sure I found it. Looks like there may be a few other spots as well. Wish I had a boat but that's what friends with boats are for. Just make sure you help out and fill the cooler so you can get invited back. Wait, none of my friends that surf have boats either. Time for new friends.
I didn't read the article and didn't know it was 12 miles offshore, but anybody with common sense and the internet can easily find the spot.shyt im a pothead and discovered big wave spots all over the world by being bored and checking along coastlines on google earth. I garentee I can find this spot lol,and il tell u how.all u have to do is find out what state it is in,then venture out into the ocean til u see whitewater break far offshore.not that hard to do. 2nd I said the "local pros".i had no idea the walsh bros discovered it,and if they did kudos to them, they are alright. all im saying is hammer and gleason showed up at my local break last winter,a spot that never has more than 6 people in the water, dropped a web edit where they showed the parking lot and some other landmarks, and yes maybe the people on here in new Hampshire and florida will never find it,but regular jersey civilians that drive past the spot everyday and never bothered to check to see how good the waves can get at this particular spot.anyway most people with common sense and knowledge of new jersey roadways and the trees on them easily discovered this spot, and I swear to you, last time I was there was thanksgiving swell last year and there was more people in the water than the manasquan inlet on a 3ft summer day.i never surfed that spot again, which sucks because its the closest spot to me.i ventured out a few times just to try to witness them surfing my homebreak which would be cool, and they never came back.i have no problem with pros surfing I spot,I wish more would, but to put an edit out online that gets 2 million hits and u clearly show exactly where the spot is and which road to park on,clearly doesn't resemble common etiquette.im sure me posting this, other njers are going to look at all the recent hammer/gleason vids and find the spot.
look who the author is......didnt you guys just rip me a new one for calling this joker out like a week or two ago....hey now rip eric the actor
