I know the old saying, "You get what you pay for", but, has anyone tried these? Feedback? Anyone selling any sets of Future fins? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ventral-Car...273?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3ce86ccd21
Looks like all their fins are the same size, even quad sets... If it's what you are looking for (medium tri-fin) you could definitely save some $$. The foil is described as "IFT" - Inside Foil Technology. Hopefully the center fin is 50/50! I'm looking for a tri-quad fin set (futures as well) and might consider these as a starting point. Let us know if you give them a try.
From someone else's post using that handy search function: "Stay away from the Ventral's. Really ****ty foils. Bought a set of their performance cores and from a distance they looked fine, but up close I could tell the were garbage. Never even rode them and gave them away to a buddy."
Unless you can see them up close and personal I would be hesitant to buy anything regarding my surf equipment.
this. unless it's w/ a tried & true company w/ a solid reputation. honestly, even the pics on the ebay page look ****ty.
compared to the big name brands, I do consider Ventral to be chinese garbage...however, they're probably fine if you're a beginner and/or on a major budget. Whether or not they're better than a used set of FCS or Futures is a coin toss because you never really know if someone tried to "modify" a fin. Fact is, we were surfing on fins with probably worse foils back in the 70s and 80s, yet it rarely made much difference (except maybe when your board started that dreaded humming).
Thanks guys. I didn't go with the Ventrals, I found a guy selling a set of Future F6 for pretty cheap.
