Brigantine has some good breaks, however noones around in the winter, unless theres great waves. Hit me up, noone to surf with around here..

So you looking to surf in winter slop and/or make new friends?

Try a "hello" tread bro. They work wonders on here.

I like that long jetty where paddling into the outside peak is like paddling against a water treadmill. I got sucked around that jetty once and started to paddle in the inlet and ended up catching a sick left inside the inlet.

Just remember, if you pick the wrong surf buddy, this could happen.

Curious...why surf Brigantine? When there are so many other spots that break more consistently nearby....your parents have a house there? Serious questions...

Well brigantine might not be super consistent but the revel is 5 minutes away and goes off on most swells. Ya mad dog sounds really good haha

Actually... if you could go back in time about 30 years, Brig used to be really good. I lived there my freshman year at Stockton, in a condo right on the beach. Big, wide open beachbreak with peaks all over. Long paddles out and sandbars up and down the island for miles.

    Sheesh.....

I have the opposite problem. The past few years, no matter how cold or crappy the surf, it's more crowded than I'd like. Nothing like going to my favorite breaks in February to find 20 guys out and 4 sweepers.

Nothing better than good NJ winter doo doo brown waves. Not the bone-breaking gnar winter death waves for the select few. I'm talkin bout good fun Winter waves. Long lines. Toobs. Etc. I'll take shoulder high to a couple foot overhead and clean winter in NJ, over just about anywhere in the world. No foolin'!
