I lived in Brevard County for three years. Surfed mostly Indialantic boardwalk, Melbourne Beach, and Spanish House. Rarely went to the Inlet unless friends were in town that wanted to surf there. Favorite wave is around RCs when it's on. Usually went there if it was going to be a groundswell type event. That place breaks more like a west coast wave. What I liked about it was I didn't know too many people, so I just went out alone, tried new places. Never got hassled once down there. What I didn't like were all the dirtbag degenerates that the area is chock full of. I think it's where alcoholics go to die. There wasn't a lot of twenty-somethings around either (which I was at the time). Mostly high school or just above and then old farts. Not a lot in between. There's not a lot going on in the Space Coast, so I think a lot of the people leave there after high school.

Florida sucks! I almost moved to Cocoa Beach with me ex but she ended up leaving me for some kook local who bust mad airs with worm burner style. Looking back it was a blessing in disguise, plus she was bi-polar and had a semi hairy butt hole! I wonder if I should drop names lol.....
Sounds about right, I frequent probably the very same spot or spots you once had. And I agree, when it's on, it breaks more like the West Coast there, having sampled both, I can say this is true. I'm moving there in the next year or so, it's just a matter of time. Then there will be two more 30 somethings around, so feel free to come around if you are looking hang with someone in your age bracket and not all the retirees or high school kids. Who knows, maybe we've crossed paths already...
Yes. That, ground swells, dawn patrols (even if it was sh!tty), noon sessions, evening sessions, free drinks on tie nights at the Rialto, 6 wks. of spring breakers in Daytona, Sebastian Inlet 20 min away, 90% of teachers were non-english speaking grad students, etc., etc. the list goes on. But, my bottom turns and cutbacks got a helluva lot better. If RC's or Spanish House was breaking there wasn't a chance in hell I was in class. Thinking back it's kind of funny to realize the reason I didn't surf monster hole more often was because I was too spooked to surf it solo and no one was ever around to go out because THEY WERE IN CLASS. Most graduated too.
Easy killer, was just messing around, lots of bums stay under the pier, guess it kinda looked like I was calling you one too, but I was not. Didn't mean to offend ya JawnDoeski, Cocoa Pier is the Belmar of FL, thought you'd get laugh out of it

If you ever paddle out there before sunrise you'll see a few of them sleeping under the pier sometimes, or late at night if you're stumbling around the beach drunk you might run into them as well, usually harmless, but always keep one eye on them lol and you're right, 23 footers only exist in Belmar.
I was there between 2000-2003. Moved back to Virginia Beach after that. I'm sure I'll make it back down there again one day. I've actually been back to Florida four times since then, but didn't go to Brevard.
u know theres something wrong with America,when everyone from ny to vb drive down to florida for vacation,and people from florida come up to nyc for vacation.i just don't get it,id rather live in florida than nyc,nyc is the septic tank of America,worst city on earth.great for spreading ebola and other diseases,or getting pickpocketed,mugged,or arrested by plain clothes cops for trying to buy bootleg dvds off canal st.
