shraks yeah there is A LOT of bunker around here so hopefully they're more interested in that, was it a bull or thrasher?
i think it is a bull shark but i went out today and there was no sign of it but im pretty sure its still out by the T-Rocks. The coast guard was looking for it last night but didnt find it. There is a shark but there are a lot of rumors about it so i dont have all the facts but when i do ill tell you guys what i know.
Sharks in the water. . . Boy, you'd almost think they lived there full time. Just who do they think they are anyway? Classic Jersey. If the sharks don't get you, the floating medical waste and sanitary napkins will.
some of the jerseymobb guys spotted a 6ft hammerhead off of pt pleasant fri morn (around mid-morn). Everyone was 'whistled' out of the water while the little f-er swam about. apparently it eventually lost interest and swam away.
dirty jersey to defend new jersey i have not seen a needle on my beach in 3 years! Stuff used to be way worse like 8 years ago but i guess they have laws now cuz things are a lot cleaner. You gotta watch out with a NE storm cuz thats when lumber washes in, one time a telephone pole washed in imagine getting hit with that?

I lived down in Melbourne, Florida (near the Sebastian Inlet) for a couple months when they had that big outbreak of shark attacks. There are tons of surfers down there, so before I moved down there, I figured i wouldn't worry about sharks since there are so many guys out there all the time. Well it wasn't until I got down there, and I heard the locals talking about sharks all the time, did I realize that it was a real threat... And sharks are spotted all the time out there, and when you see one, you paddle in, you don't just tough it out... You learn to know the signs of when sharks might be around, like watching for birds hovering over, fishing for the smaller fish (which are followed by the bigger fish). Also, another thing that made an impression on me, is one of the guys I hung out with down there, had been attacked by a shark a couple years before, and is lucky to have both his feet today. Sharks attacks around the Mid Atlantic are rare, but believe me, there would be a lot more respect for the danger if you lived in a place where attacks are common. Florida being the highest number of attacks in the world. And if I see a 6ft hammerhead, then you can have the next set, because I'll be paddling in
Skirts? Ill give you a skirt jack ass. And go ahead and try surfing around Mako sharks. You would have a better shot at not getting bit if there was a White Shark in the water. There have been loads of different types of shark in close from four foot Brown's, to Bull's, to Thresher's. I'm sure there are Tiger's out there too. We have a plenitude of shark in our waters and this is nothing new. Up in Monmouth Beach there were Mako spotted by fishermen feeding on Bunker less than a mile off. You do not want to be in the water when there is a Mako around. Although it is more than likely these shark will not bite anyone, the Mako is THE most aggressive shark out there. There are billions and billions of bunker in our waters right now in the 4-6 inch range which brings in some of the mako's favorite food... Snapper bluefish. Here is a suggestion. Get on a boat and get some shark! And dont even sweat it when your surfing. Fear will do nothing but hold you back.
Dirty Jersey Easy on the medical waste talk, I have been a gaurd for 14 years is OCNJ, and that happened one time, and if bull sharks are showing up, the water cannot be as dirty as you said.
One of the largest breeding grounds for white sharks is about 100 miles off ocean city. about 10 years ago a 14 ft white was caught during the mako tournament, chopped up and thrown in the bay. They caught the guys and fined them 500k also confiscated the boat. There are always sharks in the water off the mid atlantic.
I do not know if one of you were out last July 4th '06. But me and a guy on a longboard saw a sizable tale that was not a horizontal but a verticle. Quite scary. The good thing was we kept seeing and saw it go out farther to sea. I caught the next wave in for a breather. More amazed than scared. I would not believe my eyes if it wasn't for the BB and longboarder that saw it too.
