you go to bayhead at night? I went there around 3 and stayed till dusk id say it was a lot funner/scarier/heavier than the morn despite a lot closing out you only needed a handful of heavy bombs to really do it

Definitely! - Buxton for 3-4 hours Friday, AM tons of people from all up and down the coast quite a few waves to go around though, Went to a spot north of OI for another 4 hours to get away from the crowds. Saturday I surfed OH barrels all day long behind my friends house in NH with a crew of good friends - epic day!! . Gonzalo delivered down here.

ummmmm... are you sure you were not dreaming. Croatan was terrible. The swell basically never showed in VB, completely crap all three days.

Between nags head for me on Friday and Sandbridge sat morning...nothing to write home about. Guys were out and everyone was going WTF. Dude I'm so pissed. So tired of "surf" here. It's a roll of dice. It's so consistent here. Consistently crap.

A rare occurrence. Good waves on a weekend that I didn't have something else going on in my life.

I made the drive to OC, MD on Saturday morning. Got to The Castle around 9:15 or so. Waves looked fun from the shore, so I paddled out. Got a couple quick ones, but it was a little funky with almost no wind at that point, plus almost dead low tide. After a couple hours, the wind started to come up dead offshore, cleaned things up and the swell started to pick up and sets were coming more frequently. The waves got real hollow, but there was tons of close outs with the medium period swell. Still managed to pull into a few barrels but never made it out of one. Still well worth it even though I got bounced off the sandbar no less than 3 times, fought off a hamstring cramp and pulled a muscle in my rib cage. I guess I'm just getting too old for this sh!t. :)

    Here's a few pictures I took after I got out around 1:30.

lol, no. I do use my Google+ in my professional life, but not as a mortician. I'm in IT Management. I had that professional head shot done when I started my consulting business a few years ago.

Croatan was solid? Not VB Croatan. VB doesn't translate well with long period swells, nor south components, and this was a classic example. Saturday had everything you want, offshore winds, clean conditions, warm weather, warm water, small crowds...except for size and consistency. Every now and then a chest high wave popped up out of nowhere, but not in sets. Very dissapointing overall.

Interesting Mclovin. I was wondering how the long time local crowd felt about it. I've lived here 2 1/2 years. Ridden bigger and better here but nothing has even come close to the total package delivered by Gonzalo. Fun size, offshore, relatively uncrowded, and it kept going non-stop for 3 days through all the tides. Unreal watertime... over 19hrs between the 3 days...unreal number of barrels...more shacked than I have been on some surf trips. I was still riding lined-up 5 turn or micro barreling waist-high+ waves at last light Saturday... North peak at poles...by myself. Gotta say its a good way to end my tenure here.

http://cinnamonrainbows.com/surf-cam-report/ That's hampton (specifically the ****show that will catch you a board to the face)

    Jenness supposedly 2-3 until 1ish.

We will see. Surf reports are like mopeds...no wait those are fat chicks. I can't think of asurf report analogy. Head high means chest. Chest means waist. Etc.
