I was at a busy bar in Providence and they gave me a plastic soda glass. I respectfully declined. I went off on my faux intelligent rant about wine glasses and they lady cut me off and said "I get it." In a bar with 200+ before a sporting event across the street, I got a frosted glass.
And I forgot about Stone. Tried that for the first time in Anniston Alabama of all places. When its available I will grab it. Six Point has a decent one but it tastes a little dry for me. Someone corrected my glass theory and shattered everything I know. Its a good thing I am down to one pint glass in the house. Could someone please post a picture of the ideal IPA consumption glass. I cannot do it at 55 degrees though. I can do a 200lb chick before I drink warm beer. Don't get me wrong---I will do both as a last resort...
Yes to both. I'm not afraid to go hard in the paint. Evil Twin Brewing also makes some ridiculously hopped ipas that are nearly all > 10%
Zach, have you seen the Sculpin Habanero? I friggin love Wegmans! I will check for the plain Sculpin IPA first. Dog Fish is decent, I like the 90 minute, the 120 is too much. We have 2 other local breweries, 16 Mile and Fordham. 16 Mile has Inlet IPA and Fordham has Double D Double IPA, both are decent. Went for a tour of the 16 Mile brewery and got to taste an Oyster Stout they had brewed. If I liked stouts, it prob would have been good to me.
I like Racer 5 for a refreshing drink that always kills your thirst - even when water won't. Dogfish 60 and 90 are sweet and complex but ridiculously filling. I don't care for Stone IPA I will go looking for Sculpin.
I have brewed beer at home for 8 years. I have also scaled homebrews up to commercial batches. The efficiency and conditioning you get at a commercial level cannot be beat. That said, you can still make awesome beer at home. It is just easier on a commercial system (sometimes).
Racer 5 is a good one too. I forgot about that one. It is very refreshing for an IPA, albeit lower in alcohol content than most if I remember correctly.
Damn, all this talk about Sculpin, I gotta get me one. I think world market would be the only place that has it around here. Maybe at whole foods too. Maybe it is in my head, but I got a 6er of it a couple years ago, I think I was in Maryland and it just tasted different. I was actually bummed out, thinking that they had changed the recipe and dummied down the flavor, but based on this thread, I am thinking maybe it had just been sitting on a shelf for 6 months and lost some of its goodness. I kept sipping it, then holding the bottle out and reading the label. I did this probably 20 times, just making sure it really was my long lost IPA
Sculpin isn't from China or my fridge would be full of it. For real though, If nothing more, you at least made me re-evaluate my spending habits. There is nothing worst than pulling into Walmart and thinking of you bro. #nohomo

Can't do the ipas. Like my beer like I like my women....dark. Here's a few darkies if your trying to change it up...... Revolution Porter..... Chicago brewery. Comes in a can....very drinkable for a porter Highland oatmeal porter.....heavy strong....amazing Lefthand milk stout....the creamy frothy stout....nitro off the tap Holy city pluff mud porter......I think I keep these guys in business. Rich winey porter....once in a while they do a version they call notorious PIG where they brew it with a hundred lbs of bacon......sofuggingood Getting cold....enjoy dark beer
