Neoprene Dipped booteis: Anyone have any feedback on them? Concept seems like its based on sound science. The only feedback I found on the web was a durability issue. They've been on Seshday/ Whiskey Militia alot (noone's buying them). They never list a thickness though... Good for any temp???

Nope dipped gloves or booties will be your downfall in winter! As Mr. Belmar mentioned in another tread they possibly trap the cold water draining from your suite...

the only way I can see you preventing that is if you get a drylock suit, the donut cuffs on the wrists and ankles don't let water in or out its practically a dry suit honestly

I have a pair of 3 mils dipped quiksilver boots and plan on getting a pair of 5 mils. Best bootie, I've ever had in regards to warmth. Never had an issue with water draining into the boot, etc. To be honest, the only issue I've had is that they were too warm--caused my foot to itch. I've only had the 3 mils. for a year, but have not experienced any issues in regards to durability.

Honestly, I would get them...booties only last a year or two anyway and then start leaking...

what l4t said. i have the rip curl versions, though. 3mil & 5mil (5mil has their "flash lining", which makes it a tiny bit warmer, i think). only complaint is that the 5mils seem cut a touch short, so there's not much overlap between the suit & top of the bootie, making those wipeouts where your suit leg gets rolled up a little really exciting. if they came up a bit higher, they'd be perfect.

Exactly my point, thank you sir. Right on.

Even with the drylock suit... You still get a little water in there. I have one. You can't tell me that after a surf session - when taking off your current booties that there is no water in them...

I'm on the same page as you Mr. Belmar. Next time I'm around you should buy me a beer and introduce me to your women.

Great boots. Just be careful pulling them on/off or walking on rocks. only issue was with two pairs ripping on the back of ankle.

Rip Curl updated the ones this year with a U shaped reinforcement on the heel. Just dont tear them off and you should be fine. Great boots, real warm and comfortable esp. with the flash lining.

Can't speak for the boots but I got a pair of dipped gloves last year and wasn't impressed. Super slippery trying to hold on to my board and will easily rip taking them on or off if you are not really careful.
