I surfed a lost board one season and it is beat to hell. My average board lasts 5 or more years. I don't know that I would buy another lost board personally because of their durability.

I bought one new once. owned it for about 4 years. the leash plug popped-out, then i sold it. owned a Speed Demon, never had an issue, sold that. Now I own a RNF (craigslist 200 dollar special)...the thing is solid despite some ding repairs.
never had an issue with durability, but i've heard other stories.

uh, i dunno...giving it more rocker, a more high performance tail-end, leaving the foam under the chest for paddling. not as potato chippy as your normal step-up. try riding a mini-simmons inspired shape in a steep hollow wave over 4 foot and you'll get the "point".

My primary board is a Lost Black Sheep. I like it...I don't love it. Lost shapes are for sure geared more toward west coast conditions. Kinda wish I went with something more appropriate for the slopey waves at my local spot.

Looks nice with a lot of volume- probably easy to ride like they say... Just not so sure I would want to ride it as a 'step up' in bigger surf- if that's what they are advertising. Although maybe I would... Idk... Looks fun but not really a big wave board, unless it's not steep

given how much i ended up disliking my own layzboy, i'd give wide berth to this model.

i broke three losts in a row and had to swear off 'em.
i think that board is GORGEOUS.
wonder about their tweaking of the 'step-up' concept.

I am in the running to win a custom lost or pyzel board for doing well in FS (if I do well at pipe) and have been wondering what new models they are coming out with. I saw the beanbag...

    and saw this this morning...http://instagram.com/p/u_QuSGQz6K/?modal=true

I guess this explains the easy-up.

I need to fil out my quiver ....http://collec.to/i/824649356241267185_199800249

with a board for bigger and steep waves 3-6 feet. Thinking about the v3 rocket but this looks nice.... love how lost develops new stuff every year. Much more interesting than other major manufacturers.

Has this happened to anyone else? I've logged 1,000's of hours surfing over the years and have never seen or had this happen to me.

And I can't imagine what it'd be like if it happened on a big wave gun in waves of consequence. A strong enough leash stretched to its max could take out some teeth.

I never had a another leash plug pop out. It happened on a head high day...Nothing heavy or anything. I was pissed though. I practically gave the board away after that.

I see you have a Campbell Brothers. I was never a big fan of mine. I had a 6'4" egg and it was only good for getting tubed and doing big nasty cutbacks. Other than that, it was a slug.

you prob. had the fin in the wrong spot. i've noticed that mine are *very* sensitive to fin placement. minor changes make a huge difference in performance.
also, a 6'4" egg, even a bonzer one, isn't a hpsb & isn't going to surf like one.

It's a thruster. No moving of fins. It's my step-up for big days.... This lost step-up is interesting and I would love a proper description from the site. I want something with a bit of tail rocker and still easy to get into waves with.
