Lived in Ft. Lauderdale for a while, surfed deerfield beach, pompano, etc. Drove North a lot, Never caught Miami good. Aim for Jupiter. The inlet is fun, Kite beach and Juno pier when it's big. Quality of life is better for middle-class, schools are ok (when you start making your family). However, On a good NE Delray has consistent HH Lefts breaking down the beach. Stay away from Lake Worth Pier. I surfed a lot by myself and the people in/out of the water were sketchy at best. Good luck!

Thanks yall! I am just awaiting some feedback on something I have been working towards. I just need to ensure that I can land a descent job that allows me water time when/if this goes down.

So there is a Swell Info meetup in Florida possibly? North Carolina moonshine gonna work for you guys?

How are the colleges/tech schools/universities from what you guys hear. Just in case I need to get me learn on so to speak on something else. I moved to my current town where my skills are not appreciated/underappreciated. I know no one really except whoever I work and/or surf with.

Not really. Most of the people that moved to that area of FL were aging and die there. Now younguns are repeating the cycle cause there are alot of empty houses from the dead people. **** was booming there in the 80s, continued into the 90s, slowing down around 2000, pretty much died in the mid 00s and starting to slowly grow again as of 2014.

I've vacationed to WPB/Ft.L/Jupitar every December since 1980. The changes have been insane. Up and Down. I expect it to continue. Now is a good time to buy something.

Interesting that you mention that. I spoke with a client yesterday and he had been living in L.A. for some years. He claims that people are trying to get out of California of all places. He went as far as saying as great as it is there, things are run so insanely that people are over it. He cited there to be a lot of immigration issues as well and folks are not diggin it despite the landscapes and waves. I suppose it is all about perspective. If you don't care about the beaurocrats, you will enjoy your surroundings.

Florida Atlantic University has a campus in Boca Raton, and a satellite in Jupiter. It's not Harvard or MIT by any means, but they have classes in all sorts of advanced subjects like female anatomy. If you can get the amber or gold colored shine, that is my favorite. Clear will do just fine sir.

I'm moving from vb down to wpb too (next august). Gonna be at PBA for school (pharmacy). Seemed like there are lots of set ups for surf, but at the time I was there (Gonzalo) swell wasn't filtering in all that well for SFL so went north to Sebastian area for surf. Kiel, we seem to be about the same age... im sure ive seen you out surfing in vb.

Jupiter is the most consistent area and has lots of set ups: reefs, jettys, pier, lots of shifting sandbars, way way outside shoals, and the wildlife refuge in Hobe Sound is nearby. So other than the pier and the jetty, it is spread out with lots of peaks to be had (watch out for the growing hordes of SUPers). Lake Worth is full of Cholos. Delray is good on occasion, but inconsistent and very very crowded when it is on.
