South Atlantic Storm...

    Swells with that long of a period come in in such long lines that youpretty much need a point break or reef setup to avoid close-outs

    Im not complaining at all ive been havin a blast out in the water. surfing is about being happy there waves at all. id still be out there if it was only 6in to a 1ft.(just on my spare 10ft longboard lol)

    go move to florida's gulf coast then... you'll be in paradise! i'm glad you're having fun, but any half decent longboarder is just as disgusted with 6"-1ft surf as a short boarder or bodyboarder, or bodysurfer... anyhooo, there's waves right now, so i'm going surfing!

    Theres also another thing...the long period waves experience friction in deeper water and this tends to reduce the swell angle by bending the waves until they are parallel to the bottom...thats why on straight beachbreaks, the long period waves tend come in straight even when the storm is way off to our SE.

    Last night was awesome! 4 to 6 ft and bumpy but who cares. I hope everyone got out there. Ill be on my way to the beach in a lil while today should be even better.

    good point about the angle...and micah i did find that a little funny as well... fun waves in jerz last night, bout chest high+. if you dodged the closeouts there were some fun ones to be had.

    waves were good from 9am to about 3 in the afternoon. Id say 2 to 3 ft at best. morning was clean than got a lil bumpy the rest of the day. still fun though.

    saturday morning was epic, it was chest high and offshore best i got it all summer

    The Day School goes back the surf at "cocoa beach" is supposed to be stomach high!

    Best All summer (this summer has been horrible)

    Anyone have any luck this summer in central florida?
