Anything to look cool. Dumb asses.
I have to admit though, skaters are way way gnarlier than surfers in most cases. Those guys eat sh** like 100 times to land a trick, and fall on PAVEMENT. Yeah sure, the guys who do airs on surfboards run the risks of fin slices, landing in the flats breaking ankles, having their feelings hurt, etc. But skaters go down hard like every DAY. Plus, they are mostly skinny little punks that smoke cigarettes, like drugs, and don't really keep fit otherwise. I don't know how anyone lasts more than like 5 years, skating hard.

Thanks for the PSA. I will not be going skating until after I return from Puerto Rico in February... Anytime I think about hurting myself on a skateboard, it happens. I think my ankles are made of wet noodles. That is all

skating is way more difficult and way more dangerous than surfing, except for the drowning part.its rare u drop in on a barrel, fall and break ur arm in 3 places, but it happens.when skating,so many things can go wrong.all u have to do is watch tv lol.boards to the nutz, broken legs, arms, necks, backs, etc.road rash, getting hit by cars.i still dig skating tho,its one of the few sports where u don't need to be around anyone else, just grab ur board and hit the streets.

yeah its part of skating, if you have been skating for more than 5 years and have not broken a bone your not skating hard enough.

Skating is by far the best cross training for surfing. I'd even go further than that and say that if you have the basic fundamentals of surfing down, skating improves your surfing more than surfing does, especially on the east coast.

Dont worry about pain when your old, its going to happen regardless. Live it up and charge, no one likes a old man pushing mongo claiming he used to skate but stopped because of bills/injuries/blah blah

I remember back in the day this kid who lived by 7/11 in lbi had a nice mini ramp all the "real surfers" use to sesh when it was flat...most kids these days are surf jocks in the making... Youz wanna train in the gym and eat special diets...we didn't do any of that **** we ate panzones, smoked pot and charged everything... Summer of 97 I surfed with a cast on my wrist... Hey it's cool if stop skating **** like stairs and hand rail... But you guys sound like vagina..and mongo is never acceptable unless your pushing switch(that's a real east coast tradition)

Skated Ramps in the late 80's and Street and Philly up to 2001. Took a break from skating for a while and Ive been Skating Pools, bowls and Ramps ever since. I dislocated my Right shoulder almost 2 years ago at the South Philly Warehouse . I ended up needing surgery which included two screws. I still skate hard you just gotta block it out or you will get hurt agian
