    hi swellers ,
i have a question , do any of youz put those heat packs in their wetsuite boots during winter ? If so , hows it working for you , good or bad . toes cramped , do you have to put it in a sandwich bag for waterproofing, etc .
Usually thats the number one reason i have to head in for the day , Frozen feet and bad case of ice cream headache . It would be nice to see some kinda of heated booties and gloves to come out in the near future . (hint surf companies )

They need oxygen to heat up. I've thought about it, but it won't work.

really old school is 9mm round toe half a size bigger with a pair of wool socks in 'em. but you really don't want anything that will bunch up under your foot when you're standing up. Want a longer session, buy 2 sets of booties and when your feet get cold, go in warm up, take the wet ones off and put the dry pair on for your next session.

yazbeck_freedive_hunter_neoprene_socks.jpg This my problem too! As long as my feet hands stay warm I'm good. I just got these and they are by far the warmest booties I've ever owned..I got 5 mil but they're warmer then any other 7mills I've ever owned..Don't know how they will work for you though....

i have 3m , 5m , and 7 m . it would be nice to wear less neoprene on the feet , and still stay warmer . Maybe the 2 pair method grainofsand recommended . I just sucks when the waves are good but feet aren't working .

Damn, you might have changed my life. Are those as tall as surfing booties? Do you think the soles could hold up to bicycle pedals?

I tried using the hand warmers once last winter or maybe the winter before. I got a bunch of them for snowboarding, but I generally don't wear gloves on the mountain(I used to be a lifty in Tahoe and got used to the no glove thing). I tried to let them heat up, then wrapped them in plastic wrap. It didn't work. I think someone else mentioned the fact that they need oxygen to warm up which is true, and also need it to stay warm apparently. So that one was a fail.
On another note, you can try wearing wool sock under your booties to fill the gap between your skin and the neoprene. I have done this many times and it works very well. The socks are usually garbage after a couple of uses, but it is worth it.

ill second that excel drylock 7mm statement. dont buy cheap booties. ull just get cold, and they will wear out WAY before the xcels. so ull just spend more $$ overall.

however, when i was just starting years ago and kookin it up tryin to save $$, i bought some 7mm dive booties. they had this ****ty tread on the bottom, worst board feel ever. but they were indestructable, and they kept me warm as Hell. I used an extra leash strap to keep em sealed. u could do the same if u want.

isn't there a warning right on those things that says avoid direct contact with skin...

anyway, with the amount of cashola you'd spend on those things over 10 sessions you could have a new pair of booties that lasts 2-3 years...and they'd be just as warm without the 1st degree burns that'll look like the ebola herp all over your feet

thanks for the input boys, i'll just save up a little more to get the drylocks. i've been burning my money on spraypaint and markers recently, so i guess i'll have to resort to another way of getting paint ;)
