Saw this in the store and couldn't pass it up as as I'm not sure how long it will be around. I threw one in the basement for proper aging, and against my better judgement I drank the other 3. 15% ABV is no dang joke fellas. I was sucking the rug before I even knew it.
WOOD NERD! I am a wood nerd. I worked with cabinets and trim my whole life. I do the same thing all the time. I obsess on molding. This is his workout juice:
Also, this evening I tried Foolproof IPA from Rhode Island. It tastes like PBR, which wouldnt be terrible if I didnt pay $10 for a sixer. Luckily ol U2B knows well enough to get more than one sixer on a work night. Baxter Brewing Co. IPA. 6.899 outta 10, which is good considering I have a very high bar.
Last night I made my way through some of our recent barrel picks. High West Double Rye aged in a High West Manhattan Barrel High West Rendezvous Rye aged in a Four Roses Barrel 3 different barrels of 7yr Old Weller Antique 3 different barrels of Smooth Ambler Old Scout (7yr, 8yr, 10yr) Fantastic night of sipping.
Last night I had a few pours of this years Eagle Rare 17yr and then moved over to my old friend Old Grand Dad 114. Beam has improved greatly over the past few years, and I think me and the boys are REAL close to buying a few barrels of 114. Fingers crossed...
wait metard, you got cheesey eggs (arguably best dish on menu depending how you do hash browns) with cheese on the side? and you get plain potatoes? wtf
I bought a case of the back woods and bourbon county rye... A few dozen of some special homemade salt taffy... I got all dis for MIS homecoming but he had to rain on his own parade!!
Which Elijah Craig? The Barrel Proof has been pretty special and priced right when you can find it. I still miss the old days of finding Elijah Craig 18 for $40/bottle....
