local vs global boards.

    What are peoples preferences? Do you still buy from a local shaper or buy a computer cut board?

    I buy whatevers cheap,doesnt make sense to me to buy a 700$ stick and break it on the first heavy day

    If you don't have the where-with-all to discern the difference, buy cheap crap. I'm sure even your local shaper can help you with that, too.

    For me it's not a, "cheap vs. expensive" debate, though. A good local shaper should be able to improve your surfing. It might cost more, it might cost less. But your local shaper should be able to fine tune your boards, in terms of both design and construction, whereas your global producer may not. Many will give you what you want in terms of construction, but few will be able to make the subtle changes in design that your local break, and your surfing ability and style, call for.
