Looking for help here. I live in NY and want to make a trip to NJ to bodyboard. The only place I have been recently (and didn't board) was Avon NJ. What are the closest beaches to NY that you would recommend for surfing/bodyboarding?

Do you know how to get to Trenton? Just kidding...Try any of the numerous LBI breaks - about 18 miles of beaches with guards (gotta go b4 or after their tour of duty time (10am-5pm)). Plus, I'm certain the Joisey boyz would welcome an add'l guy in the line-up!

    Good luck!

    Jersey is for Bodyboarding

You won't find a better place to bodyboard than Jersey, except for of course Virginia Beach. The more the merrier.

The best place to surf and bodyboard in NJ is Long beach island in ocean county.

He is right! Go to Long Beach Island!!! (LBI) or Seaside. Great waves there. Or you can save the gas and go to a spot a little further north. PM me. But only if you promise to never bring your surf board with you. Or if you do, you have to let me ride it for a while.
