Any you cats ever charged the mountains around Park City, UT? I'm there in two weekends before Christmas with a couple friends and will get some sessions in. I've snowboarded once since high school and that was last year. Surf and skate has definitely helped it but I'm going to try and get to a crappy mountain here before I head out there so I can get basics down again. Any reasonable thoughts and experiences help. Thanks braddahs.
Park city is unreal. Awesome conditions all day err day, tons of stuff to do (Wahines galore), you won't be disappointed. Bring $$. Nothings cheap there. Cash doesn't talk, credit cards do. Bring alcohol if you plan on partying. State liquor stores like NH. Restaurants can get pricey (well worth it, food is world class). This is the Antigua of mountain hopping IMO. I'll take park city over anything colorado has any day of the week. Enjoy my man! You're mind will be blown by the conditions. If you haven't been in a while, don't play games there. Off trail/cautions/back bowls/ etc...keep your distance. If you've only dipped your feet into east coast riding, you've got zero biz on some of those spots. Aside from the creepy stuff, you're going to have a blast. Some real calf burner runs there. Be prepared for soreness.
I got the lay of the land bro and I'll be staying in a friend's condo who lives there. I'm more concerned with which mountains to hit, trails, etc. Spicoli knows how to kick it off the hill, he's lookin for tips on what the deal is on the hill bro.
One word. Canyons. Well, if you're into pipes. I'll add it's more what you're into and what you want to get yourself into. Give me some background.
Brighton on the other side of the pass gets more snow and is cheaper than most and is sick as you want.
I've never hit brighton. PCM has some awesome stuff above tree line if you're just looking for some seriously scenic runs. I think it's 'to each his own' out there. Might want to hop in a car and hit snowbird too! THAT you won't regret for a second.
I'll be back there in February as well so perhaps I will hit Brighton then. Need/want to keep it simple and stay in PC that weekend.
Well snowbird is maybe an hour or so. Well worth the trip if you're looking for unreal, wide open runs. When I mean wide open, I mean wide the **** open. Totally different experience. Kind of surreal. Canyons is big. Correction, canyons is huge. Seriously huge. Some cool stuff though, you'll like the parks. PCM has some higher up wide open stuff. Can't touch snowbird in that department though. Park city has a stupid amount of stuff to do, you can't go wrong either way.
I'd take Vail over Park City any day. Much more variety. You can spend weeks there and not ride everything. I love Park City, but I love Vail more.
Snowbird is siiiicccckkk.... Would love to go to Whistler, but wasn't allowed in to Canada last time my friends went. That hurt
Emass, check out Blue in the Poconos to get your feet back. I know it doesn't compare, but, it's time on the board and it will help. Have fun dude!
This is the type of stuff I'm talking about. Thanks bruh. Anyone else with specifics about PC only please?
