Made a boot/glove dryer. I have a small electric fan I'm going to attach. Just sharing

i do the same thing but dont use a fan. just PVC with holes drilled in it to keep it from flopping over.

Nice work bro. You and hanna should hang out and go to town creating things from PVC.

Heat setting is no where near hot. Luke warm at best. Dries everything really nice. And just for refrence, I surf ALOT. I'm out when it's knee high. I'm out when it's head high. Im out when its onshore. Im out when its offshore. I use that thing after every session in winter. On average I'd say 3-4 times a week, for 2 years now. This is its 3rd year. My booties and gloves have never got brittle or cracked. Gears in great shape.

Like I said, if you got an extra 70 bucks and you surf alot/often in the winter its totally worth it. Also got one of these for my suits..... http://www.uwkinetics.com/products/hangair-drying-system#.VI4ZP3oo7qA
Again totally worth it. I haven't put on damp gear in years. I got both these contraptions as gifts, can't say I would of spent the money on them, but after owning these for acouple years I think it's a great investment.

I'm happier not having spent the $70 on that. Scrap PVC pipe ends plus extra fan I don't use anyway in the winter is getting the wetsuit drying job done for me.

But I'm glad to hear its not pumping out dry heat into the neoprene.

I got one from cabelas for like 30 bucks a while back. Only does boots or gloves, not both. Works good- it's only a heating element - there is actually not a fan. I was surprised but it works! The heating element is way down on the bottom and the heat rises. It takes hours or overnight to dry. Proabably not good for the life of the rubber.

I made a similar contraption, but used a hair dryer with a “cool” function I found at a thrift shop for three bucks; it dries my boots and gloves in less than one hour.
The downside is , it is a bit noisy.

That's good, I wasn't speaking to you directly though (other than the heat setting part). I meant you'd be happier if you didn't have a dryer. Whether it's home made or bought dosn't make a diffrence. With how much allot of us surf I'm surprised more people don't use something like these. Like I said, I didn't buy them, if they weren't given to me I probably would of tried rigging something up instead too. But I think it's worth the money if you don't want to or cant make one for whatever reason. All you guys without something like this, home made or bought, should really considering making/buying one.

I have a small fan I am attaching to it, so not heat and very low noise.
