Thanks all, yeah guess I was hoping there were more options than basically Futures SB1/3 and a couple others, but you've helped, thanks!
Please post a picture for evidence because I don't believe you. Please prove me wrong. Unless you are gluing them in those 2 tab FCS fins are extremely loose in a future box- far from a perfect fit. But I guess I could stick a FCS fin a future box and hang the board on the wall for 12+ years and have no problems though. I am calling BS on actually using the board.
One option could be like one of the best longboard surfers I have ever known does. He shaped a set of sidebiteys for his log that look like the Future middle finger trailer fin. He runs a 9" center rake in a box 6.5" from the tail tip and middle finger like sides with great success. The side boxes are toed in 1/4" which is a lot for a 9'2", on par with a thruster shortie. The middle fingers are 1/2" base so they need a shim under the fin in a 3/4" deep box to make them fit flush in the box which future sells.
not to mention the issue of fin cant...fcs builds cant into their boxes, futures builds it into their fins (this is why it's easier for independent & backyard fin makers to build fcs compatible fins rather than futures)...for this reason alone, trying to use fcs fins in a futures box is a terrible idea. true ames fins: http://www.trueames.com/collections/futures-compatible
those still don't address the fin cant issue. i don't have any boards w/ futures boxes, nor do i plan on ordering any. didn't you switch to futures, Z? seems like you're the cat who should review them!
