I'd say from Smyrna to Sebastian. I check photo reports from the 2nd Light forums everyday, and it seems like there's always a wave to ride somewhere in that stretch of coast
I would say OBX gets more waves so to speak. In other words, there are more days with "good" waves. This is debateable one could say. On the flip side, you can't "bank" on a particular day having waves there every day. It is still a toss up. That goes for everywhere on the East Coast for the most part. That stretch of coast in Central Florida is real nice. You could count on a wave on a said day more than likely. Whether that is a "good" wave or not is debateable as well. The thing about Florida as Dsup has pointed out before is the "onshore flow". There is usually something out there. You may have to wait for the right tide, the winds may be onshore, you may need a longboard, and the waves could be really small and chopped up, but there is something out there. Therefore, one could say, Central Florida is the most consistent on the East Coast. We all have our days, but it does get lake-like every now and then wherever you may roam on this coast.
What i have learned from close to 25 years of surfing is that NJ is probably the 2nd best state to score east coast surf. Also, from hearing from people on here and looking at the swellinfo charts, outer banks is a pretty awesome place to live to be a surfer. I never thought they got that much more surf than NJ does, but it does make sense when looking at the bathymetry and the fact that they stick out so much. I wish i had made the move out west earlier. Maybe someday. There are only 2 states i would ever move to which are CA and NC. CA very easily being the first pick.
Yup. I'm not opening a surf shop, I'm opening a retirement home for old debauched surfers somewhere between Sebastian and Ponce Inlet as soon as I win the lottery, or when my wife ditches me so I can find me a sugar momma. "Shady Barrels Retirement Home and Rehab Center".
surfing aside, i dislike CA immensely. Fun place to visit for a few days when there is swell, but sucks in many other regards.. CA has nothing on HI. I am a degenerate ahole and actually prefer NJ/NY to CA .. i think NJ gets pretty good sometimes
I think the benefits of living in jerz don't outweigh the fact your actually living in jerz. I'm not hating on jerz, i just hate being in the armpit of america.
One thing ive noticed about California is the sheer amount of kooks in the lineup. The ratio of kooks to reasonably good surfers seems much greater than what I have noticed here for good days with the same amount of people.
its ok, ct is just as bad just in a different way edited to claim jersey is 10x better than ct. full of stuck up ppls. at least jerz has diversity
ct ****ing BLOOOOWS COCK, especially south western part but who am i kidding the whole state sucks. at least jerz has waves. i think we can both agree that Connecticut and Jerzy are two very very very terrible states. probably some of the worst in the union.
