Went out at the north end of Manasquan before dark. Pretty manageable paddle out (and i'm not in paddling shape). Was pretty fun, started to get some chop to it around 4:30.
i checked there, it looked really mellow compared to a few towns north where it was bigger and sweeping like crazy. I prob would have had more fun where you paddled out. Made a good workout paddling nonstop for an hour and a half.
Paddled out today. It was so small/blown out I could hardly get waves on my softtop. If you couldn't make it because of work don't worry you didn't miss out.
there was small surf early, tides and wind got together and snuffed it out...at least at my (not so secret) spot. i didn't go out and now begin my 2nd month without surfing. i've been hitting the pool to compensate. not a lot though.
Surfed somewhere yesterday and had a blast. Out the door at 4am to a new spot I have never caught but have tried several times over the years for...the 2+ hour drive to the break was filled with nerves since I got skunked my last 2 surfs. Parked, ran to see the swell, and bam. Questionable condityions sometimes = Chest/Head high peelers and barrels. Best day surfing in a loooong time.
I am a new father of a 2 year old with another on the way and a weekend warrior with a bad case of surf fever. I got the fever bad.
Yesterday was fun- happen to surf In north moco- usually don't surf there- but went to a spot that once had a pier pre- sandy. It's was peeling like crazy. Only a few guys out. Totally fun and no question -manageable. Easy head hi+ conditions with some bombs every once Ina while After surfing- I heard that a lot of other spots where not working. I didn't spend much time checking other spots- just drove up to this certain spot since I had time and kinda to reminisce /memories of years gone by... Plus it happen to be peeling. Broke a fin on one of my thrusters- bummed but at least the box is ok. Ps- yes Belmar was going off and was proabably double the size of everywhere else...
BWM, really glad that gamble paid off for ya brother!! I am currently finishing my love affair with the flu, so I got to watch the cam. Oh yeah, and had a 6 hour drive back from NC, yesterday. I know, cry me a river! Feeling about 80%
Thanks, man! Not to jinx myself, but I very rarely get sick! Makes it even worse when there are waves and you have to sit and watch the cams. LOL
DP this morning was good in central moco at one of the well knowns till the wind came up about 830ish. Didn't paddle out yesterday. Everywhere I checked looked like way more hassle than it was worth with the current. I watched a group of like 6 guys in SL for about 45 mins... 2 waves caught..
How big was it this morning? After hearing the wind last night and this morning - I figured just head into work.. Came home and it still looked thigh hi!
