Theres a hole in between the pointer and middle finger of my lobster claw gloves and I just suck all the water out of them in between sets.
THEY RUN SMALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hope you get this... I had to send mine back to get a medium and I am only 5'6''
Still here been busy at the shop and doing family stuff during the holidays. Their suites are good for the price but, stay away from there boots and gloves. I had a pair of gloves leak on the first session took them back to Wetsuit World in Stone harbor. They replaced them and those pair leaked also.I use nothing for Xcel gloves and boots and Im probably getting a Drylock within the next week . I got my 3/2 drylock and I love it I got if for the same price as hyper flex suit on Whisky Miltia..
Really, those suits are not a smoking deal that people here make it seem to be. There are comparable deal out there, and for 4/3 I was still looking at like 200, with tax, shipping. You can buy an older suit for that money here at a shop. It is not a bad deal, just, as lots of stuff on such sites, not necessarily something to be overly excited about or buying multiple.
Don't forget the promo code drops an extra 30% bringing the total discount to 75% off. That's a deal if I've ever seen one. Mines being shipped now but worried will have to return after reading they run small.
The hooded 4/3 is the worst deal for some reason. A 5/4 comes out to around $160 with NY state tax, a pretty good deal for a top of the line suit. SITETUE115
Sitetue115 is current promo code. High on life I'm 5'6/145lbs. Did you say your suit was size small or MS that ran small? I ordered a small after triple checking their size chart. Have a feeling I should have gone MS like my xcels and disregarded their stupid chart.....
Just sent my Hyperflex Access gloves back for the Hyperflex Amps. The Access are supposed to be sealed, but when I turned then inside out, there were several areas not sealed. The Amps are sealed and taped, hopefully they are better.
Just got my suit from this sale. I ordered the L . I am 6'1 but they were out of the LL so I took a flyer. It is a hair tight, but fine on me. I am pretty thin though. The LL prob would've been a perfect fit but this L will do no problems.....I would always rather have a suite tight than loose anyway and I will have boots on anytime I put this suit on so it can be a half inch up the ankle. As far as the suite goes it seems really well made with the synthetic lining and all that jazz...pretty stoked overall. Hope everyone has luck with theirs--cheers
THE SMALLS RUN SMALL!!!! GET A MEDIUM SMALL!!!!!!!!!!! I'm just getting a medium because I am growing still
Got mine today. Overall the suit looks good. The inside is more impressive then the outside. Nice soft lining throughout with some thicker red lining on the core front/back and hood. The suit actually fits good except I'm wide in the chest and shoulders but I've found suits loosen up in the water so probably go with it. Hard to get off actually had to get the gf to pull down off the 2nd shoulder. I'd suggest anyone in need of a suit without the hefty price tag, go for it. For $160, I'm stoked!
I probably would go with the MS if had to do over again but then I'd probably complain of being loose in the waist. Never had a suit fit perfect so nothing new.
What's up Donkey? You get a chance to get in the water with that suit yet? I recently ordered a medium Hyperflex Amp-3 5/4/3 hooded and found it to be just a bit long and large around the neck and just above the shoulders. I am 5'8" and 145lbs. I ended up sending it back and just received a small. It wasn't so bad getting into after watching a video where I learned to put a decent quality bag over my feet and and hands/arms while geting into. Only thing after getting that ***** on was I was wondering if I would be able to paddle out in it! I could not get it off without some assistance either.... My chest, about 39", and shoulders felt TIGHT... I was thinking that maybe it would loosen up a bit after getting into the water once or twice but trying to decide if I should just send it back and try something else. Lemme know how that suit works for you,,, thanks man, Ken Oh yeah,,, I got mine on Amazon for $230. I tried putting the 5/4/3 hooded in the cart at the link provided on the first post in this thread and added the SITETUE115 code but the price didn't come down any more?? damn,, was thinking of sending mine back and getting the same you got to save a few bucks....
Damn!! Much Thanks.... I just ordered a 5/4/3 Hooded (I think the Voodoo from last year if someone's post earlier in this thread is correct) for $158 delivered. Initiated my return for the Hyperflex Amp-3... going to end up with $75 bucks back in my pocket! Thanks for posting this up everyone! Ken btw, the current discount code has been changed to: SITEKEEP115
I actually decided to send back and get size MS. According to hyperflex size chart it's for 5'7"-5'8" but more room in waist and chest. The size small just seemed tight everywhere from the waist up. I actually felt the blood flow being restricted as the forearms were so tight. Seems like it's kids size. Haven't received the new MS but hoping for the best. May be a good option for you but noticed they are out of stock in the 5/4/3. Not sure if I made the cut yet or not. If not probably get the all 4mm.
I wouldn't buy any glove they make just out of principle for the exact issue you describe - bought a pair to save a few bucks once, paddled out in cold water and they proved to be unsealed junk that froze my fingers within minutes. I've been getting two winters out of O'Neill Psycho 5mm. gloves and just bought another pair of them (cost $40 in a shop in OC) and discovered a strange issue with them. Yesterday I paddled out and while they were warm as hell, they had a slippery sheen (like some sort of factory solvent or release compound) on the outside of them that required rubbing in sand for several minutes before I could even grab my rails without slipping. They're fine now but it pissed me off having to "distress" my gloved a bit just to use them. Beautiful little waves BTW.
