As both as surfer and a kiter , I find myself always peeping at the forecast models. A lot . Maybe its for educational purposes , but most of the time its more for a sneak peek of who's on stag next . Some of the forecast models are Great , pretty to look at , lovely figures , vibrant colors , tells size of the goods , flat , dd, doh . Sorry went little off tangent . but i did stumble apon this site a few weeks back . its shows active wind all around the globe , few days back and few day forward . It would be something i figure you forecasters here at swell info would be curious to check out , maybe over lap an active swell model over this . Im not to sure of the work is involved , probably a lot. Would be the Ti#s of active forecast models . .http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/orthographic=-52.16,23.67,436

    cool.
    localized winds possibly excepted.
i know of two spots in peru - chicama and san gallan - where the wind is always offshore.
    always.

thank's for sharing this! it's a very cool map indeed. If you click on it, it gives you some controls..

I wish there were archives so the user could set a date range and speed and watch how the surface winds change over say a month or 6 months etc..

..also would be rad if you could switch from surface level winds to 200-300 millibar winds and focus on the jet stream patterns.
