Makes me hungry for Honeycomb cereal. I bet Roy will have something to say.

Gimmick IMO - don't see the ROI for this sort of blank.

cool concept to reduce weight for more sustainable board. For the poly guys...I'd be more interested in this...http://www.geoblank.com/.

whoops meant this ^^^^ was a gimmick. Seen a few boards done with this and I am scratching my head why.

Yeah plus their GEO faq section makes them sound like a bag of d1cks. Wtf is that "you may email us and we'll see how we feel about new accounts"? GTFO

There is a RI shaper that has been doing honeycombs for years.
As for weight reduction, the amount of weight reduced can be equaled by going to take a pee before you suit up. done.

It's a new take on an old concept... chambered hollow wooden boards. Only the chambers have a different shape, orientation, and are cut by CNC. Looks cool, but I wonder about the weight and flex.

    Still... I'd try one.

I wonder what roys thoughts are on this? Why didn't he think of this first?? Does Roy reply in threads that he didn't start???

    1) I'd like to know, too.
    2) He probably did... or at least tell you he did.
    3) He'll get pinged now that you mentioned his name... he'll show up any time now.

I know next to nothing about Roy's boards, but I don't think he does chambered boards. He does an internal framework technique... not sure what kind. Typically it's spine and rib type construction, but Roy might do something different... maybe a lattice-like approach?

Roy will only say that their is no performance value to the board cause it's under 10 foot and not made by him. There's not even a tunnel fin....I mean come on.

Good point... No performance value... That's why he works with lattice - much more performance with a 10 ft lattice board, I suppose...

Lettuce should have plenty of flex. Honeycomb not so much.

I'd ride it. The point he makes about surfer's enjoying nature while using materials that are inherently toxic to nature is a great point that I think about a lot. I support a future where performance will not be hindered by using materials that are lower impact on the environment.
