Sooo did anyone call yet? I would but it's not the state I live in. I send emails and make phone calls to my senators and representatives in Maryland. Offshore drilling is only about corporate PROFIT at the exploitative expense of the ocean and ecosystem - with not a thought in mind about long-term sustainability.

Did we forget about Deepwater Horizon? Do any of you work in the fishing charter business? Any of you own vacation rentals or work in tourist beach towns?

This affects not only NC but ALL states along he Mid-Atlantic and south coastal states. VA/MD/DE guys it's on our doorsteps too.

Yeah sponger. You may be going about it wrong. There is a proven blueprint to this process.

1- Create a thread with as little info as possible.
2- Make sure there is no link, email, phone # or any other info that will help people contact their representatives.
3- Tell everyone how lame they are and how they suck at surfing.
4- Make sure you let them know you rip. Consider changing your name. Add rad, ripper, shredder or something similar (this will get your point across.)
5- Create a cool name to call people, ie. Techo Weenie... Tell everyone they are lame for posting, BUT make sure you post all day for weeks at a time (don't worry, it's cool when you do it)

No matter what Ovomit does or doesn't do, I suggest to all of you that investing is the way to go. Not only in oil, although buying drillers at these low prices is advisable, but in any stock you prefer. Even Warren Buffett started with a few bucks a week. BTW, markets have a way of overriding anything politicians do. Their effect is always temporary. Also, any oil drilling rigs to be built offshore will not get done now, not because politics, but rather, the market presently needs none to be built. Recently, North Dakota has shut down 300 rigs total due to glut of oil. Having said that, price/barrel will again rise to levels where drilling will resume. I say 24 months (I am guessing).
