Does anyone know if it was the township or a group of people that removed the rebar from the surf in Deal? Was an accident waiting to happen. Just curious.

Who ever it was, it sounds like a win. Have a beach near me where they have some wire fence in the sand, had it stick through one one of my booties one day. This is a state park, you would think my taxes would have paid to have that removed.....

No way - - there's 'special fees' now for everything. Our taxes line the pockets of the pols. Oh, and the entitlement funds for state govt retirees.

Yeah, its not there. It was there for a long time though. Ever since Sandy took out the sand. It was to the right of the small jetty in front of Deal Esplanade. You ever see it before? I tried pulling it out during the summer but it wasn't budging.

Yes, a win for sure. Hoping to find out who removed it. Wanted to thank them. If you're reading this and removed it...Thank you!

Once I watched a woman try to pick up a log in dumping shorebreak. Her hair and bathing suite got cught in the debris and the shore pound, and eventually she was stripped nekid. Then some ahole from a condo callled the cops on her for indecent exposure and two old dudes in blue outfits and guns and badges show up to lend a hand? Hilarious.

Not mentally healthy to be self-commenting on your appearance in the bathroom mirror, raddamoron.

I bet. I wonder if they're waiting until the beach gets replenished before they put new ones in. Wasn't that supposed to begin back in August or something?

I hardly ever... Ok sorry- I never surf at darlington anymore (it's just not one of my favorites) but years ago when I did I remember slicing my foot on some rusty metal on top of deal esplanade while checking the surf.

After sandy I did walk around there and remember the metal 'rebar' but I don't think it was rebar, but more of a wire fence.

Remember those days before the stairs? After a rain... Slipping and sliding all the way down... Actually I don't think I have surfed there when the stairs where in place.. Don't think I ever saw them

Was definitely rebar. I tried to remove it. There used to be an old set of stairs at deal esplanade that ran through some head high vegetation. I spooked two deer out of it when I was walking back up years ago...scared the hell out of me.

Man I think that's the same rebar that's causing all the broken hymens these days.
