    Suggested accomadation, board rental?

    Hey Moose,

Thanks for the posts! I'm heading down to CR Feb 2nd. Can you suggest any places for accommodation in Puerto Viejo? Any surf shops that rent non-soft tops?

    Thanks,

Absolutely. Right at Cocles there is a place called Totem. Adrian sits on the beach from 9-4 each day and charges 25 bucks per day for any of his assortment of good boards. He is very fair and will allow you to switch boards, take them overnight if you want to surf late or early (recommended - the place gets crowded esp if Brava isn't working), or leave with him if you want to head out for a while to grab some food (while not charging you) As far as lodging, there is a hoard of places to choose from, and I really don't think you'd need reservations. Personally, I went with my wife and stayed at Villas Del Caribe, on the water about a mile south of cocles. I think it was $120 a night, and one of the better spots down there. Food is amazing, and if you like the rasta vibes you may not come back. Have fun good luck.

    bocas del toro

looks like bocas has been getting a ton of swell and still more on tap. it looks to fade through next week.

i'll be landing next saturday, the 14th. i've been looking at a lot of different models and it looks like there may be something starting to develop on friday (3/13) but i am not 100% sure.

    any input?

ya, its big out there right now. Its pretty hard to see anything past 7 days, since it is all short period swells for the Caribbean.
