It's difficult to give helpful advise without knowing a bit more about your situation and what it is that has you down. Job/financial problems, unrealistic expectations, relationship/family difficulties, substance dependency, general malaise, no sense of purpose, sick of all the bullsh*t life throws at you?

I can only speak in generalities, but I've been down a few times myself.

Setting and working toward a goal, or goals, can help. Helping others, as has been mentioned, can be beneficial. If there might be physiological reasons, talk to a MD, get a check up and perhaps blood work done.

Be thankful for what you do have and, if it's any consolation, realize that things could be worse. You're young (I'm assuming) and live in a country with unlimited possibilities. You don't live in a third world hellhole. Don't feel sorry for yourself (not saying that you are) and don't get caught up blaming others for your plight.

For the past two weeks, I've been visiting a senior rehab facility to see my Dad (he's 85) who broke his hip three weeks ago. I take my Mom there. She's 82 and almost blind. There I see old people in wheelchairs who are staring into space or out the windows. It's a depressing place. Since the accident, my wife has been living at my folks' house helping my Mom. It sucks. I guess the point here is live your life to the fullest while you can.

Get out there and live. If you need professional counseling, swallow your pride, if necessary, and go out and get it. There are resources. I'm not yet the one in the wheelchair, but I've had to put my surfing and other things on hold indefinitely to deal with our current situation. Life can throw things at you when you least expect it. Sometimes it's just taking one day at a time. The measure of a man is how he performs when things go wrong.

So I'm checking th forecast and see this thread again. Dude, my family came here lookinging for a better life from yugo-fu(king-slavia. Left it all behind them and had only the clothes on their back, $60 of their currency and a dream. They did well considering I come on here and bs on an effing surfing forum. I honestly can't believe I do immediately after I do, but I do.

This ain't usual me saying some random $hit that probably goes no where since I don't always follow up. Digress. My point is things can be worse. My family was hunted down in the war. It could be worse. You surf? You can post on a free surf predictin website?

My dad always said when you're getting down, get busy. They say idle hands are the devils playground. Get busy and stop reading this site after my post until you get over your feelings. You will be ok. I truly do think that.

I think I've typed enough. My point is get your mind on something productive. I have faith in you man. How old are you anyway? If this is about waves, they'll be back. Are you living in your homeown? Change of scenery couldn't hurt. You live in the land of milk and honey. You're doing better than 99% of the world.

If you're reading this then you are not busy either surfing or creating something useful to this world. My words don't need to be read. I bet you are better off than me and I'm happy.

Low on life.... bro, now is the time to kill yourself.

Ok, seriously, I didn't mean that. What you need to do is to... kill yourself.

Alright, no no no, seriously.... don't kill yourself... just take a deep breath............. then kill yourself.

Dude, get on Tinder, pick up a heifer, drink some beer, pick up another heifer........ and if that doesn't do it for ya.... kill yourself?

You have come to the right place for medical and psychological advise.

    1. Step back and let things chill...say to your self 10 times....CALM...and breathe....seriously this technique has helped me immensely.

    2. Meditation, prayer and charity....

    3. I know this sounds holier than thou, but the ego is your worst enemy....go do something for someone else, you will feel better knowing you made a difference, and you have spent time well.

    4. Surf, train to surf, go swim for a mile, run for six miles, or bike for 20 miles, doing interval sprints to get your ya yas out and burn off some energy and recharge, and do NOT think of anything but the breath while doing it, thus shutting down your conscious monkey mind and letting your inner higher power to do some damage repair.

    5. Engage Yankee in a gentile discussion and blow off some steam , while learning the true meaning of respect.

    6. CHUMBA WUMBA...."I get knocked down, but I get up again, nobody's gonna keep me down!"

Surf and train. Save money for the surf trip to costa rica. Vent on the forum and pick on someone like yankee and then vote him for HOTY. That'll make you feel good. That's what most of the guys on this forum do at least. Oh, and and check out the surf competitions like the pipe pro or something like that and watch it live. That will get your mind off things as well.

Let's not instantly forget Surfsolo is pro ocean oil drilling and pro poisoning the population via Monsanto.

Really, I thought this was the site to hookup for one-on-one fighting and posturing?

My playstation is just fine and the rape dungeon is perfectly clean here.
