Thats great and welcome! I was hoping New england would chime in. Florida can turn on man. Plus chest high with 20MPH on shore may not be a go when its 20 degrees out but when its 75 with tropic water? I'm going.

wait a minute what makes you Thee Fartmeister? Is it sound or toxicity. Becuase I can destroy a bus load of people with a SBD after some Whitecastle. Took out a whole ski trip once.

Looks like tomorrow will probably be the day you wanted to be here, 4ft @ 11 sec and light offshores most likely. Last couple weeks haven't been all that great though, rideable, but nothing to write home about like you said. It has actually been better in the Gulf the last week. You should see how good some of the Gulfsters surf, for what they have to work with. Here's a couple links to the past little swell in WFL...

I can not make this $hit up. I went down to the beach after work due to EXTREME frothing from watching the Volcom Pipe Pro in perfect conditions with the best talent in the world getting barrels. The future of surfing is in good hands!

So I walk down and check it and it is bigger than it has been, but onshore winds and high tide have mucked it up, but there are a few good sections so I decide to take the fish out rather than the shortboard because it is soft, but chest high plus on sets and looks kind of fun if you at the right spot. Down the beach, between me and the inlet, is a tent with a bunch of poles in the sand in front of it, big surfcasting rigs. I remembered the last time I saw this set up, it was my buddy's kid and his crew shark fishing. They would paddle the bait past the sandbar and then catch monster hammerheads (9-10 foot) and a number of spinners in the 4-6 foot range, right off the beach. I was surfing one time and it was real good, and I was going under their lines in the shore break, ducking at the right time to miss getting closelined, I thought it was a bunch of tourists, and was trying to mess with them, until I walked back up the beach and found out it was local kids. But I digress.

So today, this evening, I checked it and was thinking maybe there was a reason nobody was out, but figured screw it, I'm here with my board, so its go time. And there are two guys, one thin and wiry, looks like a grom, and a big bubba. And I hear them talking about paddling out. So I say, yeah, it's breaking OK, are you guys heading out ( cause company is good sometimes)?

They say, we are, but in a kayak and are kind of scared, can you paddle our bait out for us, there is a shorecasting shark tournament going on. I told them, FU9K YOU! and laughed at them. I asked them aboot the tournament, and they told me it was from Jacksonville to Miami and started Tuesday at midnight and ends Friday at midnight and they have not caught one shark yet. I wished them good luck.

So I paddled out. Just so I could say I surfed during a shark contest. I caught three waves and paddled in. It was fun, but spooky. There was a guy who suited up, and I was all excited to see some other idiot going out, and I told him aboot the shark hunter fest, and then I saw him driving out of the parking lot as I suited up. Pu$$y! I swear to Gerry Lopez this is true!

Tomorrow is supposed to be offshore. I am on it like a hobo on a ham sandwich.

    I will repost this…

I surfed for 3.42 hours today. I had some really fun ones…and I live in VB…

I rode my Roberts. She was doing alright. I would like for the wind to have switched earlier, but you can't have it all, right? A little textured, thigh to chest. I was totally surprised. It reminds me of Sunday without the offshore winds. The lefts were a lot better when they came through the way I wanted them to. Nice form on some of these lil waves. A lot of lil duck n tuck cover ups to go with the head dips.

Sounds like fun. Are you sure it wasn't 3.24 hours and maybe you transposed it wrong due to surf froth?

Oh, I know it can turn on, I've actually seen some setups that look like they could be great, just never timed it right. Some day! Looking to buy a little getaway shack down there. It's important to get some sun and warm air after winter has **** upon you for a couple of months. I chose the handle Thee Fartmeister because it was a nickname an old German lady gave me. I consider myself to be a fartist, using flatulence as my medium like many masters use oil & canvas. Maybe next time I'm in Cocoa Beach we can grab some Epic Burrito and I'll show your portfolio. Cool pics, btw, thanks for sharing! Def gotta spend more time on the gulf side in the future.

That is too funny, I too pride myself on the sheer volume my farts have, my wife can hear me all the way upstairs in the 2nd bathroom from the living room downstairs, it even amazes me at times. Definitely up for an Epic Burrito! Even more fire power :) If you are in the area shoot a PM, the Gulf setups are fickle so if you aren't familiar i'll guide you in the right direction.

Surfdog that shark tourny is Crazy! I bet the tourists love it. My folks live around you and my Dad would get a kick out of it. They go to the beach with binoculars so he can spot spinners all the time. You know a spot I can tell him where he will see guys doing it? Like that rock that sticks out just north of Riveria?

    What's Happening?
There is a little surf out there. Little and weak but you can get up on them and get a little down the line while doing little wiggles in the foam before it petered. Tide made it a little fat this morning but hey it's surfing. It counts.

Anybody else go surfing? Where are you Florida guys? Post your story here.

Saw the near shore bouy at 3.3 this morning and the winds were light. To me that means check the surf. Checked it out and much like the other day, it was to deep. Doable lines but nothing breaking till shore. Walk back to the truck to realize I locked my keys in there. I have a bad habit of doing this. Like really bad. Luckily I had my phone so I got someone to drop a spare off. So I sat there as it began to snow ,locked out of my truck. My buddy was with me so I told him I'd wait for the keys and he could go check another spot out. While waiting I decided to go for a walk and check it out again. Still wasn't really doing it but was looking better. Tide was dropping. Saw one wave that looked fun, but only one. Sooo I finally get in my truck, my buddy's back, I tell him of the one wave I saw and we decide eff it lets go. Didn't just stand outside in the snow for a good 45 min for nothing....

It as about thigh high, solid waist on the sets. A little textured but I'm not picky. Beginning of the session was a little slow but got a couple that had potential with a dropping tide. Definitely got better through out the session but it didn't really start to turn on till about the time I had to get out. That last half hour though, man, it was wave after wave. They were standing up allot more and lining up better. Was totally worth it. Just like the other day it wasn't anything special, but was allot more fun than expected. And it was snowing do that's always cool with only you and a bud out.

There are 3 teams up at the reef you mentioned, and two more teams down by the jetty. A bunch of cowboys in kayaks, big fat guys, trying not to flip, as they paddle their blooody baits out past the break. I'm sure your dad will have a blast checking out the fun and frivolity. Too bad they didn't time it during the BET Channel's Spring Bling. LMAO

It is chest to shoulder high up in Jupiter and offshore and I am at work and did not pull a stunt because I just asked for a raise and got it so I thought it would be smart if I take one for the team. Maybe later, maybe later...

I called him. He already knew all about it from T.V.. Said he saw guys doing it in Jupiter by the that park on the south side of the inlet. Which by the way is one of my favorite places to go when i visit. Been going there since the I was little. Like in the 70's. Place was like the wild west to me back then.

So what the heck only 2 guys on here, both from Long Island, has been surfing on the whole coast this morning? I find that hard to believe. Who else has been surfing? Help keep this thread alive.... and in the top 6

It's warm and sunny out here, and there's some fun little ones coming through .... tempting, but I had to pass. All of my small wave equipment is dinged up, and my wetsuit has some holes, so I'm skipping piddlin' waves to get ahead of things and make repairs.

Still, it hurts to watch a sunny 40 degree little peeler come through with NO ONE on it. I'm sure someone must have gotten out today ... paddle out and chime in guys, it's a beautiful day out there!

Here's some pics from today at a certain spot in Brevard County. I won't get out till Sunday morning, but thought this would keep the discussion going. There's one pic where you can see a couple dolphins catching a wave.

Sure wish I called out sick today, I just don't have it in my DNA to do that very often, if ever. I plan my days off. Never want to be "that guy". But days like this make me regret being responsible. Nothing epic, but clean playful conditions...

My buddy texted me from there, the park south of Jupiter Inlet, you mentioned, and said it was chest high - he is 6'4" - and peeling 100 yards - during low tide. While I was at work, the only day of the week I go into the
office, down in Boca Raton (the mouth of the rat). PM me next time you're down here, it should be good all the way till late April at least.
