So while visiting parents in MD this past weekend, i came across these in the "outdoor world" super mega store ( it really is huge )
Was wondering if anybody had any experience surfing with them?
    Perhaps better grip?

    Sorry about the sideways pic.

It neoprene outer shell with wool lining inside.
Feels pretty comfortable on the hand.

That's the thing, the packaging doesn't say
Looks and feels about 2-3mm, plus extra padding inside with the wool and what not.

Looks like they may allow water to leak in through the wrist, but if the price is right, could be a decent back up. I have a back up Quiksilver 2 mm Neo Goo, $15.00. I hate them, but they work as a back up. Oh yeah, and NO grip!! I had to paint some neoprene glue over the palms for traction.

Yeah these are around $20 I think... And have a texture to the neoprene that's supposed to be grippy. I just don't know how much of it I wanna believe. I would guess for fishing you'd need something you can rely on, grip wise... So maybe there's some truth to it

I have a pair, a Sweetwater surf shop in WB NC sold em. Perfect for keeping the wind off your hands, mine are 1mm thick. Very grippy, but yes, the wrists are large. I don't use them often, but glad I have em when I need em.

Well, you have to also consider, these are for fishing where your hands are not fully submerged under water for periods of time. Either way, good luck

We sell those gloves at a place I work at. I use them a lot when I have to get guys bait in the early spring and late fall. They are comfortable, but I don't know how well they would hold up surfing. The wrist isn't that form fitting. Maybe If you tape or seal the wrist it would work. as for the thickness i would say they are in the 2mm range. like Zeroevol said might be an ok back up

I bought what looks to be the same type for around $20 from TWs to go Rock Fishing outta Hatty last year. They are grippy and worked in the cold elements really well. I tried them last spring when it was still chilly and did not like them at all for surfing...not sealed real well and the wrist thing.
