Who's a hockey fan up in this joint?

I got my money on the Rangers. Getting nervous with Hank out, but I think Talbot can hold his own.

Money on the Rangers for what? Playoffs? Another shot at the cup? Last years run was a blast ...

Don't forget about the Isle's. Gotta go see them at the hellhole before they migrate westward. Don't get me wrong, I am stoked to ride my bike 15 minutes to a hockey game. But I do fear that they will one day be called something besides 'The Islanders.'

More or less just trying to say I'm a big Rangers fan haha. I hate to see the Isles leave the coliseum. All it's going to do is piss off their fan base because now they have to take a train and then transfer and the ticket prices are going to jack up. It's so much easier driving a half hour and paying $8 parking. It's also great to watch a game in that barn too, great view from every angle

    Man f@ck islanders.

    Go Rangerstown.

(Had a longer post, but it got a little dark, and I don't like violent thoughts)

Love hockey. Only team sport I ever enjoyed playing and can still watch and get into.

Haven't really followed the NHL as of late, but loved the Rangers growing up b/c Vanbiesbrouck(as a goalie, I always rooted for teams with goalies I liked)...so still a Ranger fan by default I guess?

At least regular humans can afford Islanders games. MSG prices are a joke, and the Dolans are a joke too. I hope Dolan's chopper goes down in the Atlantic, so I can piss on his grave every time I surf.

Long Live the LI Ducks ... "Because of the poorly-run heating inside the small arena, fans often attended games freezing. During one game, fans affected by the cold temperatures lit a bonfire in the arena, prompting Al Baron to joke, "Tonight's game is brought to you by the Smithtown Fire Department".[1]

Supposedly their coach was the inspiration for Paul Newman's character in Slapshot ...

Bitter Flyers fan here. Ed Snider is the Al Davis of the NHL. Still thinks its 1976. at 51, I don't think I will see another champion come from Philly in any sport in my lifetime. I like watching NHL games that feature the quality team like Blackhawks vs Ducks or Kings or Bruins/Canadians then I do Flyers games anymore. The Hawks/Kings series from last year's playoffs was off the charts.

Love playing hockey...it and a lil football are all the team sports I care to watch. Canes fan here. We're pulling our usual BS of stinking out of the gate then going on a run at the end to make sure we end up with yet another mediocre draft pick. Gotta keep the mediocrity going...We're f'd for years from all the dumba$$ long term overpaid contracts JR was handing out like candy. Can't get a bag of pucks or even a water bottle for these clowns. 7 mil for Semin? +3mil for Liles? Insanity.

Only good thing that has happened lately is JR has gone to Pittsburgh so he can go a good job screwing them up.

Yes indeed, that was amazing. Kings\Ducks was great too. When I was watching I thought "whoever wins this is going to win it all".

My team wouldn't win a single game against any of those teams in the playoffs, yet our owner thinks we're "contenders"...lololololololol

But at least you have a memory in recent times of watching Ex-Flyer Rod Brindamour hoist the cup! I was 12 last time the Flyers won and now I'm approaching AARP status.

Something I will never forget. Only missed two of the playoff games that year as we were at the beach (vs Les Habs) and saw all of the Sabres and Oilers series. I still get chills when I think about when Justin Williams got the puck on his stick with nothing but an empty net and Pronger diving in futility...that game 7 against the Oilers was the loudest thing I've ever heard in my life. Louder than any concert, NFL game, etc...and I've been standing in front of Marshall amps for +20 years as well. And that no one sat down the entire time, just stood and roared. Never heard or seen of that.

Sad to say we haven't had a leader since Brindy left. Staal is a good first line winger but a terrible center and even worse as a captain. We have a good coach now, if Ronnie can get out from under these terrible contracts and do some good drafting we'll be back in the mix. If not, gonna be a while...

    exactly!!!devils lol.

I used to be a big devils fan but u need special channels to watch them now.i seen them a few times in the old meadowlands arena, havnt been to the prudential center.as a devils fan I have always hated the rangers.i don't get why real nyorkers don't like the islanders,i think they got the coolest name and a decent icon.its like the Yankees and the mets.if ur from queens ny u root for the mets, everyone else Yankees.same with giants and jets, people from queens root for the jets.

hockey is the best sport because players can beat each other into a bloody pulp and get 2 minutes inside a box lol.football you get fined 100grand

I grew up on MLB (Mets) and NFL (Giants) and was a Rangers fan by default. I've been really following it intense the last 4-5 years. It's just so much more exciting then the rest of them. Especially in person, if only Dolan wasn't a c*ck and charged an arm and a leg to go to a game. Football games are fun if it's not cold. I just hate sitting there during commercials when I could be on my couch drinking a beer that ended up being $1.50 from a six pack.

Don't you bouys forget about our Tampa Bay Lightning
I never was into hockey till we got a team down here. Now it's the only sport I care to watch. Go Lightning. You Rangers got lucky when we parted with Martin St. Louis.

I'm not so sure big guy. He was a quick fix for last year, almost like lightning in a bottle. But is he worth Callahan and two draft picks? Absolutely not. I still loath Callahan because he signed with the Lightning for exactly what the Rangers were offering. So it just ended up being a case of another NY Prima Donna throwing a fit

Rangers fan here... heartbreaker last season. Thought we had it in the bag after Montreal. I swing Mets & Jets as well. I don't hate the Islanders though, I actually like their colors (orange and blue, same as the Mets now that I think about it haha)... would look good on a custom board lol. Monday Rangers v. Isles should be a goody

Rangers are due for a win. I'm with you though, I don't hate the Isles like most Rangers fans.
