Are you insane? You must not know where to find good waves because this winter has had its far share of epic swells. Only recently this past week has it been somewhat dull.

I guess if you consider a few swells "epic" south jersey hasn't went off since Juno....

Even considering dropping surfing all together to focus on my baseball career (can't do both)

This was an above average winter for surf. You many want to concentrate more towards your on base % and stikeouts to walks ratio.

It's just how it here in jersey. We get some good winters. We get some bad ones. This was in the middle somewhere. By no means epic but we did have some good days... It happens with every season , it's jersey...

Want better waves?? Try moving to Belmar!

I know Belmar is where it's at, but even DE has has some decent swells this winter. Maybe you are checkin the bay and not the ocean. Ha

Your right it hasn't been a consistant surf season this winter , buy there have been a few decent swells . about once a week here in northern MOCO , that being said I've noticed that my last few sessions have been just me and a couple of friends , 34 degree water thins the crowds !

I'd give this winter a B+ for consistency, but a C- for size. We've had lots of fun days... if there's a little swell every week, and there has been for most of the winter, I'm stoked. In the month of February I think I surfed about 10 times, with another 2 or 3 days of waves I didn't surf for one reason or another. I think that's pretty consistent.

But the days of overhead waves were very few. Most days were between waist high and head high. Pretty disappointing if your the type that likes the big stuff. I didn't ride my big wave board once this year.

one february not too long ago....i surfed so much....i grew an entire neck size.
this winter was not like that.

Wow surfing keeps losing people to high school baseball.

Hey didn't last winter kick arse?

So, no one should have expected this winter to be too insane. This is the east side. We don't bathe in excess here.

I kind of shined this winter for some reason, but it wasn't horrible.

Speaking for my zone mostly, I do travel around the state for surf btw, there has been plenty of swell, but not a lot of quality.

On the other hand, our Summer wrap up was off the hook.
