Sup ya'll? I know there probably ain't too many intelligent types on this forum, just taking that from the content of the treads, but I know us surfers are a very diverse group of fellas. I'll give ya's the benefit of the doubt.

So, me being a book worm sort, I figured I'd check if my fellow SI buddies were expanding their brain capacities with any good literature. I read non-fiction. Science and philosophy mostly.

I was on a philosophy kick as of late. Mostly on criticizing religion. I read Beyond good and evil by Friedrich Nietzsche, Why I am not a Christian by Bertrand Russell, and God is not Great by Christopher Hitchens. (Those last two for you WAYNE.)

I'm currently reading Why evolution is true by Jerry A. Coyne and next on my list is Why does E=mc2 by Brian Cox.

    Let's hear it ladies.

I am currently reading, "The Untethered Soul," recommended by Doug of SI. I'm reading it slowly, because I'm stupid.
Actually I'm reading it slow to give my brain time to wrap around the concepts...
    It's a cool read.

american sniper, saw the movie but heard the book was better. not too far along yet but it's definitely an easy read. not exactly philosophical or anything but entertaining nonetheless.

Yeah, I'm sure you be a friggin intellectual. I'll mop you the f-up in the smarty-pants department.

Oh, just because someone writes a book aboot something doesn't mean it's la verdad. Wow, look at that bilingual over here.

So let me get the jist of this: You read some authors and some subject matter that is "sophisticated," hence that must make you sophisticated as well.

    Got ya.

I pegged you as a fiction reader which would correspond with all your AC-slut conquests.

I read Canadian Young Adult literature and The Great Brain series by John D. Fitzgerald.

Don't call me a "lady," either

Even though I'm an illiterate retard, don't get your hopes up on Why E=mc2. I was a little disappointed, imho didn't live up to the hype.

Just finishing The Brave Cowboy, an Ed Abbey novel I've yet to read, on deck is Time and The Riddle by Howard Fast.

Whoa, Riley, what's with all the hostility? Something eating away at you man? Don't gotta take it out on me. Seek some help, maybe therapy or something hombre. I hate seeing you like this. (Although, I'm not positive of my position on therapy.)

I'm a bit of an intellectual, not much, but a tad more than others of my daily encounters me likes to think. A favorite quote of mine. "Most enlightened people live in an unreal world, associating with their friends and imagining that only a few freaks are enlightened nowadays." (Definitely pertains to me!)

So, because I induldge in women and alcohol, I'm not allowed to be intelligent? Doesn't seem very fair to me.

    Thanks for the insight, Seldom.

I've read some reviews that said the same. Albeit, it's not a very lengthy book, so I'm gonna take the plunge anyways.

Your stories of AC debauchery have nothing to do with the assessment on your intelligence.

WHOA RILEY......Dude you come on here and diminish the intelligence of everyone on here. And your or you're surprised you got some business thrown your way?

You do realize LBCrew is on here. Brewengineer is the smartest guy in South Carolina. MIS knows everything. Crewsby on CBS is a reigning county intelligence champion in Chickasaw County. Zeroevol tests urine. Erock heads the MRSA chapter of Wilmington, NC. ZaGaffer is pretty eloquent despite his Texas roots.

I mean this place is just chockfull of smarted people. Bubonics went to college. We have high school baseball stars on here for God's sake. Student-athletes. Yankee controlled Wall St in the past. Seldom can shape-shift into animals. Don't worry AO, SS isn't Hebrew.

Yeah, um, I'm not taking out anger at you, Gnarbutter. I'm not angry. Bored and I could use a Percocet, but not angry.

Why you are surprised, when your first post on this thread insulted me and everyone on here is baffling. You basically called us illiterate.

Have you read any of Gordon Korman's Bruno & Boots series? It will take you to a nice, safe Canadian innocence.

    Hey, man, cool your jets!

When, all of the sudden, did we become so sensitive to some friendly pokes and jabs? I know there are plenty of sharp-witted brains on this good ol' forum. I was just joshing around Riley! Didn't mean no harm, guy.

Let's squash it with some fish tacos and lagunitas IPAs, what do ya say dude?

I just started re-reading "Stranger in a Strange Land". I read it a while back, but it was so awesome, I decided I needed to re-read it. Dubbed as "The Best Science Fiction novel of all time".

Listen, I'm not sensitive aboot my smartyness. I know I know everything. You did see that I am bisexual with my use of Spanish earlier, right? Opps, I meant bilingual. I get those terms confused. No wonder my mother fainted when I learned Spanish, and told her I was bisexual.

But I will not stand, or sit, here, or in Egg Harbor Township, and have you insult World B's literary prowess.

Dude, I ain't angry at you or anything else. Actually, I'm kind of stoked right now. Just found out my 2:30 is locked-up. So, I can stay on SI for the rest of the afternoon, and I'm off tomorrow and I got Mother of Berries waiting for me.

Hey, others' pain turns into my pleasure.

Don't take me too seriously on here, Gnar. It's all cool.

Fish tacos in New Jersey? How aboot some percs and IPA's?

I finished this one recently, and I read it slowly too, one chapter at a time, to let it sink in. It helps, and I'm doing better with letting it go. We owe Doug thanks for this one.

    Gnarbutter,
    I knew you were kidding.
I think everybody knows you were kidding.
Riley just likes to: hit hornets' nests with rocks, poke bears through the cage bars, cut people with box cutters, sodomize people into submission....etc....

    Any body into "Bizzaro Fiction?"

Riley, That's like weird, obscure 99 cent "lit" that you can get for your Kindle. Kind of like our obscure musical selections. Some are very dark and some suck; much like some of our obscure musical selections. Anderson Prunty is an author of this ilk... read at your own risk.

    Regards,

    The CBS Crewsby

I did not take you seriously at all, Riley. What's this forum good for if not some friendly back and forth? That's about the only reason I frequent this site.

10th ave. burrito has $12 dollar all you can eat tacos, and $5 for a shot of tequila and a tecate on Tuesdays. It's a sweet deal if you ask me. Not into popping pills my friend, had some bad family troubles with the stuff. I stick with the green and alcohol, except special occasions. It gets the job done.

Perhaps we can get absolutely tanked out of our minds, maybe a toot or two, and go out on the prowl down in the dirty A.C.

    I'm always up for that.

Where is 10th Avenue Burrito? Sorry Baddy.

Baddy gets upset when Chido Burrito is disrespected.

By "toot," do you mean ca-caine? Ahh, need downers for that stuff. Can't hack the paranoia and skitziness these days.

Shucks I might be tooling around AC tomorrow. Either there or Philly. Oh shucks it's supposed to snow and rain tomorrow isn't it. Dang it.

Yeah Gnarbutter, I'm around. But don't think a few tacos and a few drinks is going to have me dropping my panties.

    Hey SWELLINFO MEMEBERS: I'M A FEMALE !!!
