In the world of surfing, shapes do not vary that much--that is marketing talking. Even a retard can come up with a few ideas on the basic plan of a surfboard. And I repeat--Lost boards are truly LOW QUALITY. The worst. Just opinion, of course....

Hate to agree with WB, but Lost is a good company. Those of you expecting rack boards to be bomb proof are nuts. Not to hard to order a better glass job on a custom board.

yes my point also. I will never buy a lost or a firewire. their marketing departments are awesome they convince people to spends insane amounts of money on a board that can do the same thing for 30 percent less.

A ludicrous statement....shapes vary greatly...minor changes will make huge changes in feel.

Moral of the story... Go directly through a shaper. Avoid the pitfalls of buying off the rack. Unless you find a steal of a deal, then it depends. But usually too good to be true.

WTF I JUST FOUND THIS OUT THEY ARENT COMING WITH HIGH END FINS ANYMORE?!?! JUST GARBAGE GLASS FINS. REGULAR OL' NOTCH-UP-FROM-PLASTIC FINS.

That was really the selling feature for me. I HATE FCS2 fins for that matter.

"Here you've spent enough to buy a used BMW in Mexico on a surfboard. Please have some FCS2 generic crappo fins that go with it."

"Geez thanks, can I get a side of dog crap and a bucket of semen, BECAUSE THATS WHAT IT FEELS LIKE WHEN YOU FIND OUT THE $785 YOU JUST DROPPED COMES WITH FINS MY GRANDMOTHER COULD MAKE BLIND RESURRECTED FROM THE GRAVE WITH FULL BLOWN AIDS AND ONE FRIGGN ARM!"

    aaaaaaaand breathe...

At least SuperBrand comes with some fins for the price.

My Couch Potato came with Seaworthy Controllers...but, yeah, my Bottom Feeder came with "Thermotech" plastic garbage (surprised Future even lets themselves be associated with that sh!t). My V2 Stub didn't come with any fins!

Nope...I go to a shaper in California, 2 actually, to make my boards for me. Works for me. In the "global economy", I see California as "local". I go to them because their glassing jobs are exceeded my no one!! There is a shaper on the Cape, that does a good job as well...Roger Beal, but I have never had one of his boards.

I've had a bakers dozen boards from matt and each has been spot on. quality for sure they've never failed me. poly, eps, xtr, keahana. aviso. your on crack if you think they're sub par. I do support local shapers also. I've been partial to matt because they just plain work

I've had a couple of Lost boards and they surfed okay but did not hold up well. I'm fortunate that the last board I bought was shaped by a guy I grew up surfing with so it was an easy proccess and the board's quality and functionality has far exceeded my expectations. I've always found buying a board is a bit of a crap shoot. I have bought most boards used at a fraction of the "new" cost. Good luck!

after three dogs in a row, each from different local shapers, I went back to renowned shapers. I don't want to spend any more time paying a shaper to basically be part of their R&D team.

    Shortround review

I surf in NH. Everything from soft beach breaks to reef breaks
Matt Biolos stopped at the shop to take orders in August 2014
I showed him the dims of my rocket and bottom feeder
We discussed my boards for a minute. And then I asked for him to shape something in between those shapes
He recommended the Shortround with some adjustments

Board arrived 1 month later (no joke)
    It's now my daily driver
    Best board in my quiver.
I ride it in crumbly waist high all the way up to solid overhead
Excels in chest to head surf
