Is there any hip hop fans on this forum? I recently listened to Kendrick's new album and was blown away. The album is a story and the lyrics are deep and powerful. Kendrick is one of the GOAT. My favorite track from the album is "How much a dollar cost".
I thought it was just alright. Nothing to great in my opinion, but hey, who cares what it think. Its nice to hear rap and hip hop lyrics about something with a bit of meaning behind them rather than listing about their baller lifestyles. I've been listing to the new Action Bronson album for the past week or so and its pretty solid. The guy is a character. i wasn't the biggest fan of bronsons new album. i expected more of a blue chips 2-style album so i was pretty disappointed to say the least. kinda sounded to me that he was trying to go for more catchier songs instead of the straight up bars and sort-of basic instrumentals that he usually does. he hasn't lost my respect, just wasn't really feelin the album. check out bishop nehru if you haven't already. you can thank me later [video=youtube;hYdcUJZ0L4A]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYdcUJZ0L4A[/video]
Go buy a Led Zeppelin CD. Or Black Sabbath. Today's rap is totally gay and phony. Kanye sucks. These rap acts are acceptable: NWA, Wu Tang, Gangstar, Tribe Called Quest; Brand Nubians; and maybe ten others I can't think of now. Please kids, don 't start packing heat and holding rocks in your socks because you listen to rap. And for God's sakes don't start surfing in Atlantic City.
Ok Two Packs had a FEW good ones....like that one where he's taunting Biggie about sexing his girl. But I hate the whole Two Packs persona and image. The dude was the west coast savior back in those rap wars east vs west. The nagger is from New York !! And grew-up in Baltimore. Then the dude acts like thug # 1. The dude studied DANCE at Baltimore's high School for the Performing Arts. His hood thought he was a punk. Ah, anyways.... Yeah, Pharcyde was good. Biggie was hugely overrated. But he did fight those horrible west coasters for us, which is why I give respect to Puffy. Plus, Puffy bowed to Jimmy Page on Saturday Night Live - and that shows proper respect.
