its a unique swellinfo wind forecast. We will be performing an upgrade to the Swellinfo wind forecasts before summer that will better account for land/sea breezes.
look at the wind barbs on the wave maps, and the wind vectors on the nearshore wind maps, and you will be able to see the wind from a spatial perspective.
Very cool. I bet in a year this forecast will be incredibly accurate. I can't wait for some hour by hour automatic updates.
ya, there are a couple really cool things that are in the works that will improve accuracy of the forecasts.
i must say, this is the best forecasting site out there in terms of sources, UI and community. need to integrate some cameras in!
yeah! splice surfline's cams and feed them through here. It would be the ultimate bombizzle. BUT! it has to stay free!
The only thing I like to use surfline for is the storyboard that they've got up there. I like watching the "spot checks" and "best bets" or news of the latest ec swell. For cameras I use wavewatch because there is one out of seaside and it doesn't need to be refreshed like the surfline cameras. But for forecasting accuracy and good/bad/funny conversation, I use swellinfo.
