What is that big sucking sound?? Oh, just the gasoline being sucked to run them tires....... But, have lots of fun with it anyways. If you change tires to smaller, it will improve gas consumption measurably, if it becomes a concern for you. That is about as "green" as I get....
I think it's a great looking truck and will serve all your surfing purposes better than imagined...good luck. Posted before, but in keeping with the spirit of the tread...here's my old Baja Buster:
'69 Bronco? A basic, no-nonsense set of wheels. Who needs all the bells and whistles. Those old Broncos are my favorite.
That's a sweet ride, Kid. I've been looking for an early bronco with a 302 on and off for over 10 years. They are getting expensive if you want anything more than a rolling chassis.
At the local spot I frequent, there is a chick that rides around in a Bronco like that painted baby blue. Gotta stay away from her in the water though, she's dangerous with her longboard.
I looked at the little numbers on the tail light lens. At least that's what we did when we were kids for American cars from the 50s and 60s. I don't think that works anymore. Actually, I remembered from a previous thread on the same topic. I had mentioned how I liked the '69 Bronco. In the early 70s, our neighbor in Calif had one. You displayed a shot of yours (the same one as above).
Wow, an uncut and unmolested half-cab in very nice shape. That truck is easily worth the asking price, even without the popup camper. Very nice find there, SBX.
Not as many as you'd think. I'm on nevada/NM/AZ/CA/TX weekly trying to find one worth taking the ride for. In shape worth restoring....unicorns. I've done invasive restos....they were fun. I'd prefer to avoid frame off restos unless I'm getting paid to do it. Turn over one issue, 10 rear their ugly heads in a hurry. taxi gatwick to guildford
True that, they're getting harder and harder to find. FWIW, there seems to be a ton of them in Colorado, Washington and Oregon (in that order). They ain't cheap, tho. I live in a small town, and there is a hotrod resto shop in town that has a '74 on the floor. Full resto, it's a work of art. Haven't asked on the price, I'm sure they're asking something retarded.
I'll be a "summer local" mid June. I'm taking mine camping at a VW bus camp out this weekend in Greensboro. I'll have to check out your ride from my home network. My work computer blocks out cool stuff so I have to do work... What a crock...
This is awesome !! I just bought a bike to use for the summer & have been looking into a surfboard rack. Did you make this one or did you buy it? I'm clueless on where to look so any info will help!
That is a SWEET bike, I want one. Screwsby, you've got a VW van? If so, which year? Pix would be cool if you got one.
I just picked up the perfect surf vehicle for me. I have to drive 3 hours east so this is what I got. It fits 2 6 ft + surfboards in the trunk with the seats folded down. I'm itchin to go east now.
I HAD 2, Kid. A 71 That spent It's first ten years in Europe. It was wired for US and Europe and was very rare. The 75 was more common but much more comfortable. I miss them, but the values went up and I was (am) spending all my spare time @ the beach either in the water, on the sand, in a bar or an air conditioned condo. Sold one in January and one in October.
