I agree. Basically it comes down to him being a 3rd string QB. So who would you rather take a chance on…Matt Barkley or Tebow?

Very commendable Pump. One's personal beliefs should not cause disdain for another person whose beliefs may differ (or not agree). Treat people with dignity and respect. Of course, if ones beliefs directly cause behavior that is detrimental to others, they should be questioned. However, one must be very careful to ascertain the cause and effect .. otherwise one could fall into their own hypocrisy and self-righteousness. Too often we label a whole group as kooks because one or so kooks is associated with the group. This is a logical fallacy.

And regarding Tebow, if his mechanics get fixed, he's worth a look. He's a good athlete in general and brings a positive, team attitude. He can't do much about the media's behavior.

I find there are cases where the media is "hasty to judgment", many times purposed to create a story. Often times their judgments are wrong, but they rarely apologize. They move on to the next story and rarely are held accountable.

In Tebows case, it appeared to me that wherever he went (i.e., NY/NE), the media created a stir and pointed the attention towards him, whether he wanted it or not.

I don't hold the accusations you say to ignore. I don't find him condescending, hold no envy for his personal gain or enterprise, not expecting a PhD candidate (or was that a general statement on the U of F Gainsville?), and am unaware of any contempt for the USA.

And I have no beef with you man nor desire to be a TT apologist (nor possibly do I know enough about him, what he's said or done to develop much concern).

However, there tends to be negative sentiment towards those that believe in God, and my original point was a "thumbs up" to Pump, who, although holds no belief in God or is agnostic at best (again, don't want to put words in anybody's mouth), laid aside the differences in his beliefs, and evaluated the situation based on football and athletics. Contrarily, there are many who like to throw people of faith under the bus simply because they believe. There is nothing new under the sun.

 

I could say I regret to disappoint you, but that would not be true.
