I haven't voted yet, but I'm a beginner. I think I'll be a beginner my whole life. My goal is to be able to surf on a 6.8' board every now and then. My favorite wave height is thigh to chest high, windspeed 0-18 mph. Shore break is a big challenge for me. I can catch the waves but I don't like the idea of ending the ride with my board hitting the ground and bouncing back at me. I used to get barreled on my bodyboard but not sure that will ever happen on a surfboard (although, it did happen once accidentally. I tucked into the barrel right before falling off).
Queen of the wind chop - perhaps a greater disappointment for the Swellers than finding out Roy's million dollar board sale was, in fact, 100% myth was learning that you're married. Bet you seldom is down to still get drinks with you though. How bout it?
Sure, I'll get drinks with seldom. My husband will probably come, too, which is a good thing since he loves good tequila, craft beers and prefers bodysurfing because a surfboard is too cumbersome to catch waves with
No, I really mean knots of course. Jules I'll throw back a few with you guys, your husband's not gonna kick my arse right?
Juliaep if you keep at it, it will happen. I too used to watch surfers play and rip and get barelled. I couldn't figure out how they zipped down the line in and out of tubes and although I told myself I would surf until I die I had resigned to the fact that I would never be able to get barelled. The secret is that there is no secret you need to take off deep and be comfortable and confident. And keep your eyes wide open. Keep practicing. It is so worth it.
Yep, SC is absolutely terrible! No reason to ever go to the beach here! We got those man eating bull sharks, killer jelly fish, giant squid, windowless white vans and piss warm water. Why poor frost is risking his very life by entering such dangerous waters is beyond me. I think everyone should save themselves from SC and relocate to Jersey immediately . God speed!
