Wake up bro! Yucatan is in Mexico. I do like the idea of going to Cuba. Good surf on the east side, I've read.

    hey.......who exactly is snoozing.....?
the ferry will run from key west to cuba, you then drive to the west end, where ANOTHER ferry
takes you to yucatan. they ain't talkin bout this in florida?

We are like mushrooms down here - they keep us in the dark and feed us bull sh!t. But think about it. You get off the ferry in the Yucatan. You still have to drive through half of Mexico to get to Centro. It would be a super cool trip for the brave and adventurous.

I read it gets good down in Cuba, and they surf with boards made from refrigerator doors, due to lack of proper gear. It's the next Brazil.

of course, it gets good...but often enough that you're gonna score on the couple days a year you're there? No. Turks, caicos and bahamas block most altlantic swell and jamaica blocks most caribbean sea swell, so you're more likely to just get junky local windswell. There are windows that let in tropical storm waves from the south, but you'd have to be a masochist to travel on a ferry during that season. The yucatan is pretty much all protected coral reef...illegal to walk on and probably surf, too. Cancun is a man-made sandbar, but everytime I've been there has been small slop. Cozumel has a couple points, but it's usually windy as hell, onshore...bring you kiteboard.

id love to go to cuba, not for the waves, dont think they really have waves, but its a country that's still in the 1950s.it would be like time traveling.they drive all old cars down there, and they are in pretty good shape, the same cars people restore in America and sell for 80 grand.i love undeveloped regions, makes America numero uno lmao

idk, I see where you're going with this, but I think it's more of a fantasy. The reality is probably standard poor third world conditions, sweltering heat and disgusting/fly infested food. Those cars look good in the videos, but have to be rotten as hell from the salt and incredible humidity...most of them basically held together with rubber bands.
