I'm calling BS on the altruistic suicide save shpiel - - oh, what, save a make-believe nutty co-worker & thus leave your board for someone to take?
C'mon, doctor phil give it a rest you effed it up so don't attempt to tug on our non-existent sympathy strings with what you think is an unassailable fairy tale of greater-than-thee woe.

And yah, you come on here without the proper intro with your lame-ass lost my surfboard bleeting, you're gonna cach some flack, get a clue sparky. :D

Did you have a suicidal co-worker with, if so, that's okay!

How is it thievery if you find a board sitting all alone. The jackass left it behind remember?

When someone takes someone else's property, it's called theft. Look it up.

Some of these responses are cracking me up.
I definitely knew I was setting myself up some
pins to get crushed; this was a total Wilber move.

Oh wait, treating your board like a kid/lady is exactly
    what Wilber Kookmeyer did!

    I'm usually great with keeping my quiver in good shape;
But the reality of it is that my wife and kids get that attention.
They're thankfully supportive, and I get to surf often... but
I've had bigger fish to fry.

Speculate all you want, the fact is this has been a bad week.
I actually never go surf with anyone else, unless I meet up
at the beach. As part of many things gone awry, a recovering
coworker paranoid of relapse and homelessness when
(not if) he loses is job is something that eats away at
anyone with a soul. I had a bunch of missed calls, and
reached out while I still had my suit on.

Think it's fabricated? Well sadly, when your nuts descend
yyou'll be faced with lots of problems bigger than what
    board to paddle out on.

It's all good. Someone else has it, hopefully uses it not
pawning it. I got other boards; at this rate I'll be 82 next
    time that happens again!

Just saying, if I see you on it... I'm taking it. And I am bigger than you

So if you see a hundred $ bill on the side of the road, you are just going to let it lie hoping the owner picks it up?

    Stop being so righteous.

You seem like a good guy with a conscience. You'll get Karma points for helping your friend out. Hope you get your board back, but you are right; there are much bigger problems in the world.
I bet you are 41 years old. I wish I was that young again!
Also, the "new guy" gets hassled. It's a rite of passage. Kinda like a circumcision...

I do hope the bourd is found.

I'm out when it's OH. I draw the line at DOH.

I really hate this song, and now that it's stuck in my head I hope to pass on the misery to someoen else...

    sing it with me now..

I feel I have good morals and good judgement in most situations. If I found a board sitting there and no one was around, I would take it. I'd probably take a pic and put them up at the beach I found it and also the local shops near by. Finders keepers? Am I a thief?
I too lost a board about 10 ys ago and I guaruntee it'll never happen again. Worst feeling ever.
Anywho, I do hope you get your board back. :)
