I have a very good friend who is a great mason. He is of moderate height and is a better bricklayer than anybody I know. He currently lives in Nebraska with his very good cook of a girlfriend and has never seen the ocean before. He surfed a flo-rider once and now he wants to move to the coast and become a surf bum. Since he is the best mason he wants to live in the best surf town. He also wants to wear the best surf brand. Of course, him and his girlfriend will need wetsuites to accomodate their unique statures but that's a topic for another thread. What would you suggest for him?

    Thanks.

Well he might be the best mason, but my girlfriend surfs way better than his. Can his gf cook Italian food?

Nah, but she can serve up some mean Uzbekistani cuisine. I think she is taller than your girlfriend too.

Folly Beach is an incredible surf town full of people who love their craft and give off a communal feel. It truly is a "surf town" especially in the off-season. Locals are super friendly, food is awesome, and the washout is an awesome spot. Check it out! Or go with cocoa, but that's kind of bigger scale.

"Surf towns" are just plain "gay".

Damn Flurida ixnay exnay on da FBa. Jersey is were it's at! Any kinda break you want. Plus you get to wear your stylish suite a lot more. People are super friendly, Hindus abound, 23 footers and you might meet the shredd machine.

    Coastal NJ

Not that we need anymore surfers in NJ but we can use some more masons. Ever since Sandy there's a ton of rebuilding going on and lots of houses being rebuilt or lifted. Any of the Coastal towns in Monmouth County is a fun place to live. There's also tons of restaurants if she needs a job in a kitchen.

    Tell your buddy good luck!
