    we are stoked to be able to put on the surf contest for year #4. the contest is a fund raiser for local non-profits that help people of all ages in our community. this year we have selected the Covenant House of Asbury Park, NJ as our charity who will receive the funds raised by the contest.
    We will have an OPEN division for all ages where the first place winner gets CASH MONEY!! limited to 24 contestants. the non open divisions will be for kids 18(high school class of 2015 and younger) broken up into various age divisions. ALL SKILL LEVELS ARE WELCOMED. BOYS AND GIRLS. this contest is for fun and to kick off summer!!
    kids that make the finals will receive prize bags from our sponsors. WE WILL HAVE A FREE NEW SURFBOARD OR TWO FOR NON OPEN CONTESTANTS ONLY!!!

    I am so stoked to be able to try to compete. I'm not really ready yet because I can't really drop in yet is there like a 3A division for beginners? How much would that be? If so can I enter every division I qualify for but only paddle out in one if you only put my name on the 3A division plus a little bonus "jackpot" for the judges? I don't have a surfboard so that's perfect...Also since the jetty probably won't be breaking is it okay if I just try and stand up on my BZ bodyboard in my heat or does that not qualify as a surfboard?

    UPDATE JNE 4th
    We have added Remsen ave surf beach in spring lake as possible location! WE ARE HEAVILY LEANING TOWARD SATURDAY JUNE 6th as event day. If weather and wind forecast holds WE MAY BE ON. ALSO ADDED A 18 yrs old and younger girls only surf division. Check our contest page on www.barewiresurfshop.com our instagram page, Twitter, or our face book event page for more updates.
