Hey guys..maybe this is just me. But lets keep these forums to something meaningful and intersting. Im so tired of seeing the "hey guys..whats tomorrow gonna be like..is it worth it." my answer...its worth it..everytime. Enjoy yourself in the water and go if its worth it to you. If its not..than thats your perogotive. keep it to yourself. Ill see you out there. or i wont...but the forecast is right there...there doing the best that they can..look inside yourself for the answer to the question...is it worth it. Sorry guys..no burns to those of you that do it..just some thoughts.

I think this whole Forum should be deleted all together. It exposes WAY to much!

i agree that people need to stop saying what its gonna be like in certain spots, like "hey so i hear inlet is going to be great" and then everyone goes there. i dont mind the forums, just when people give away good spots.

We are going to implement technology that anytime a spot is described on the east coast it is going to change the location to Atlantic.

we should make fake reports and make it say head high at the worst spots and i bet everyone will go there :D

Absolutely! where do you surf in OC? common question. I always say between 146 and the inlet with a big smile .Usually theres a pause and then a confused oh ok./? We all have our spots and the nice thing is they change over the seasons which is why I drive around on sundays at dawn with coffee and tunes looking ,checking (laughin at hung over fools waitin on the bus) ...one or two spots are normally always good and always crowded but there are some treasures out there too. The search is part of the fun.

while i AGREE with you 100%, i believe that those threads are made from 2 types of people, the ones who don't/can't read the reports, or those who are far from the ocean. mostly the former tho.

as for me, i am currently enrolled in a college in philly so i can't wake up and drive to check out my spots to see if they are pumping. i rely on reports and cams for early morning sessions before class/practice. i've never made a thread about it, but it doesn't mean that others in my situation haven't. BUT i doubt that this is the main case with these threads. people probably just are too lazy hah.

    just my insight. cheers.

I said that last year and its still here!!!!!:eek:

But in the end, I'll surf and get my waves regardless of the status of the forum. I use the forecasts to get a general idea of what to expect when I ride down to the beach. Many times, its better or worse than I anticipated from the forecast.

But in regards to reports, they seem to be influenced by many factors. Some people might think its fun, when others think it sucks.

Doesn't matter, I'll still see whats going on out there before I actually go into the water. So in some respects, reports are nearly irrelevant, because believe me, if its good, I'm not running home to tell everyone about it over the internet I'll just go surf it!

certain swells are worth being talked about.

when the analysis is educated and the subject deserves legitimate discussion, then what's the problem? certain factors like swell direction and wind direction that aren't always accurate on this or any other site (SW swells for nj and sea breezes) don't always get factored into the forecast.

on the other hand, if the post is like, "duhhh, is it gunna b gud tmrow?", it should be deleted.

I agree to an extent, but in ocmd there are a lot of sandbars that shape up from time to time and I don't think twice about leaving a report saying I scored. Most people know the spots that are more likely to pick up swell better, but the thing is there is alot of other spots going off too. You just have to keep an eye on the bars and info. I usually only get empty good waves in two places... midtown (which I consider 20th to 70th) and uptown (which I consider 70th up). Downtown is pretty predictable in my experience.

Wherever I am I'm checking it...

I give a general idea, so maybe some of you can break free from the pack and find something to yourself every so often.

I guess I understand the point that this thread is trying to make but I am so sick of people *****ing about threads that ask about what its going to be like. That is the only reason I ever really started reading these forums. Just a Thought
