Looks like I am moving down there. Pretty stoked, however, I would like some insight from the Florida boys. Additionally, good employment would be nice if anyone has leads. I might not like what I will be doing there for all I know. Moving down there for better conditions and the gal scored a solid job.

I will initially have to live closer to Orlando, but will adjust as I get a better grip on the area. Aiming to at least have a crash pad in or around the Cape.

Any of you guys hiring or know anyone you consider descent to be? I have a game plan but I like an improvement. I will drop names if I need to (although I typically don't, but I need to survive). I have skills to pay the bills and I love to surf!

This is all going down in Mid-July.

Anyone in VB need to rent a townhouse w/ no condo fees? I do solid work and have descent neighbors off of Old Great Neck.

    My condolences.

Lived off Golden Rod road in Winter park for a year after high school. It was the lowest point in my life.

cocoa beach is like myrtle beach only without the southern charm or money. the quality of surf is about the same only florida has more wayne types. the strip clubs in brevard have some real trash bags so stick to the ones in orlando. do not buy north of 2nd light or west of 95 in brevard. traffic in orlando can make you want to suck start a shotgun. i drive has the ladies of the night. if you don't find a job quickly your girl will give you the boot for some slick banker guy with loafers and a bmw ( i think every guy from new york is issued these when they get a florida drivers lisence). the real problem with florida is the ppl. you will never meet a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

lol metard. I do think cocoa (coke-ho) has more swell exposure and handles more swell, but other than that, this seems right on point. Orlando sucks. so so so bad. so bad. be sure to check out the inner room if you head down. dont expect a good time, but go like an anthropologist into the field. fascinating and disturbing

Orlando sucks big time. Traffic, strip malls, and mono anti culture. Plus dirtbags from all over the midwest and the world, training to be neighborhood patrol or ISIS, depending on place of birth.

Cocoa and all of Brevard (it is a long coastline for a county, maybe 60 plus miles from Sebastian Inlet to Ponce Inlet) has lots of waves and mostly cool vibes. A bit of southern white trash mixed in with retired military and the indigenous surf rats of the coast. You will love it. Have an exit strategy for the Orlando plan, asap. Live as far east as you can for as short of a time as possible. Better to commute from the coast. And Metard is right on. West of 1-95, or anywhere east of it that is with in 5 miles is no bueno. Stay coastal. Eastern corridor. Barrier island. Godspeed, KK.

Work for NASA or--better yet--at PAFB.
Surf down by PAFB or points south. Go to the CCB pier only if you have to, or if there's a macking hurricane swell.
There is no surf north of CCB pier, unless there's a macking hurricane swell, and then it will be small up there.
Stay away from O-town except if gloming on to some group trip to typhoon lagoon private wave sesh during flat spells.
Demo derbies in Bithlo--20 school busses racing on a figure-8 track.

Killa, hit me up when you're in the area and we'll hit all the best spots. If you move to the Orlando area, you'll be about 30-45 minutes from the most of the best spots in North / Central FL. If you can, move closer obviously. I'll be moving to the Melbourne area come October / November.

Thanks dude. I'm coming from vb and I'm wondering if that is being considered at all. You know vb is known for its great home prices, loyal women, awesome surf, lack of trash (human and literal), awesome titty bars, nonexistent traffic that I couldn't find to pas the time, lax surf regulations, few if any slick New Yorkers with loafers and bimmers or any combination of the aforementioned, clean water, perfect weather, lack of nepotism and the pinnacle of human existence.

Don't even get me started on the airfare to the Caribbean and Costa Rica if I choose to do so.

I figure I am making an irreparable mistake. fml

Thanks for the feedback despite the doom and gloom in my future and I look forward to seeing some more.

I can't help put ask those with the suck start a shotgun-Esk responses on what they would do?

    Thank you swellinfo community

I will pm you dude. I could potentially have a short work week at full time so I'm trying to surf and get a bungalow for when/if I do leave.
