Too fast? No. Experience killer? Absolutely. There's more to riding a wave than standing on a board and gyrating around. No doubt it will be fun for people who want to pay to play, wear helmets, like to stand in lines and can't get to the ocean but the art form of surfing will be finished. Learning to read the waves, anticipating sections as you go makes this thing we call surfing. Who knows what's down the line? Maybe one day we will all have to rely on pools for our kicks. They will work out the kinks as the pools progress but they will be very generic and boring as far as I'm concerned. Pseudo Surfing!
Meanwhile Californi-yay is short on fresh water. Hey let's build more fresh water wave pools to really stick it to those guys on the coast
Seems like I saw one that actually generated swells in a pool not just water shooting at you. I will have to look it up. These waves look more like water skiing waves. Not really the same...What Don Q said.
How much will this **** even be? It didn't really come across my mind till now. the more I looked into it the more I realize that you guys are right. it'll kill the whole scene behind it the actual stoke of catching a real wave wheather it's small or double over head.
