I'm not Cat Lick, but I did graduate from a Catlick hi skoo in Colo Spgs. The last nazi pope was a doozy. Quit to spend his days in a house in the back with the "George Cloony" of priests. This pope is a great guy. No riding around in a bullet proof pope mobile for him. Jumping out during a ride to bless a crippled up person. Now he says these things which have driven the "Moral Majority" representative insane. 1- "People take sick, for example, from breathing high levels of smoke from fuels used in cooking or heating. There is also pollution that affects everyone, caused by transport, industrial fumes, substances which contribute to the acidification of soil and water, fertilizers, insecticides, fungicides, herbicides and agrotoxins in general. Technology, which, linked to business interests, is presented as the only way of solving these problems, in fact proves incapable of seeing the mysterious network of relations between things and so sometimes solves one problem only to create others ." 2- "The earth, our home, is beginning to look more and more like an immense pile of filth . . . But our industrial system, at the end of its cycle of production and consumption, has not developed the capacity to absorb and reuse waste and by-products. We have not yet managed to adopt a circular model of production capable of preserving resources for present and future generations, while limiting as much as possible the use of non-renewable resources, moderating their consumption, maximizing their efficient use, reusing and recycling them." 3- "Even as the quality of available water is constantly diminishing, in some places there is a growing tendency, despite its scarcity, to privatize this resource, turning it into a commodity subject to the laws of the market. Yet access to safe drinkable water is a basic and universal human right, since it is essential to human survival and, as such, is a condition for the exercise of other human rights." 4- "Yet it would also be mistaken to view other living beings as mere objects subjected to arbitrary human domination. When nature is viewed solely as a source of profit and gain, this has serious consequences for society. This vision of “might is right” has engendered immense inequality, injustice and acts of violence against the majority of humanity, since resources end up in the hands of the first comer or the most powerful: the winner takes all."
Here's another : Catholics should not feel they have to breed "like rabbits" because of the Church's ban on contraception, Pope Francis said on Monday, suggesting approved natural family planning methods. Gee, talk about progress. His stupid medieval church still bans 'unnatural' contraception though. Btw, I think it's time to change the phrase "breed like rabbits" to "breed like humans", 'cause I'm pretty sure that the rabbit population hasn't doubled over the last 45 years.
I agree, and i'm sure the homeless in Vatican city will enjoy living in the Vatican while he spends the rest of his life in rags and hungry. I know he doesn't cause any harm to the environment paddling his kayak around the world to say all these wonderful things. after all, his holiness is believed to be infallible
Gotta admit, this new Pope seems to be years beyond any of his predecessors. Hopefully he can do some good in the world. Oh wait, Jeb Bush said he should politicize religion. Oh the irony.
Bad Pope: "Stephen VI was Pope from 896 to 897. Fueled by his anger with Pope Formosus [there's a name], his predecessor, he exhumed Formosus's rotting corpse and put "him" on trial, in the so-called "Cadaver Synod" in January, 897. With the corpse propped up on a throne, a deacon was appointed to answer for the deceased pontiff, who was condemned for performing the functions of a bishop when he had been deposed and for receiving the pontificate while he was the bishop of Porto, among other revived charges that had been leveled against Formosus in the strife during the pontificate of John VIII. The corpse was found guilty, stripped of its sacred vestments, deprived of three fingers of its right hand (the blessing fingers), clad in the garb of a layman, and quickly buried; it was then re-exhumed and thrown in the Tiber." Popes and Pluto, SwellInfo Forum covers it all!
Christians are hated left and right but this god of the church of rome gets praised blindly by virtually everyone. the way of the world is upside down. and the pedophile priests sex abuse worldwide crimes still go without any true justice
I renounced my faith after I was confirmed, that was the deal I made with my Mom. But this Pope is great, if I were still Catholic I wouldn't be embarrassed. He acknowledged the sentience of the living world, possibility of alien life, evils of unbridled capitalism. Righteous feller.
let's see, politics and religion, hmm, I know, i'll take every trendy popular stance known to man, and then do nothing, except live my life hypocritically. if he was so righteous he'd be having the homeless move into the Vatican and be an organic vegan kayaker. he pollutes the environment more than anyone and this worldwide roman catholic priest pedophile sex abuse scandal still goes unpunished. but there it is, everybody loves the guy because he seems so real, he's such a really cool guy, since he says exactly what you want to hear. if you believe it. but the same people who call him righteous mock and hate Christians every chance they get. why does this king of the so-called church not only get a free pass but praise as 'his holiness?'
